Aniimo Stealth Capture Guide: How to Approach and Catch Creatures

To capture wild creatures in Aniimo without initiating combat, crouch to lower your noise footprint, conceal your approach behind terrain, monitor the target’s alert meter, and initiate the capture prompt from behind.

Sprinting toward wild targets causes them to detect you, triggering them to flee or enter a defensive state. Crouch to minimize noise and approach using cover such as tall grass or rocky outcrops.

Pay attention to the status icon displayed above the creature's head:

Clear Indicator: The target is unaware. You can advance while crouched.
Yellow or Red Indicator: The target is alarmed. Halt all movement immediately until the indicator clears and the creature resets to its idle animation cycle.

Initiate the capture interaction once you are within close range without entering the target's direct line of sight.

Use Terrain and Patrol Routes for Positioning

Observe a target's movement before moving into range. Most wild creatures follow set looping patrol routes. Intercept them at points where they pause or turn their backs to you.

High vantage points offer additional positioning advantages:

Scout target clusters from high ledges to confirm rarity tiers before approaching.
Track movement loops from above to spot open gaps in line-of-sight cover.
Drop down from above directly behind a target to initiate captures before the AI detects your presence.

Select the Right Capture Equipment

Higher-tier and rarer creatures require specific tool setups to ensure high success rates and quiet approaches. Upgrade your gear before entering high-level zones.

Isolate Groups and Manage Encounters

Attempting a capture near a group increases the chance of detection by adjacent creatures. Break up groups before acting:

Use Obstacles: Break line of sight using nearby bushes, rocks, or structures to block sightlines from surrounding wild creatures.
Throw Lures: Separate high-rarity targets from accompanying guards by throwing a lure to pull single targets away from the group.
Plan Escape Routes: If a capture attempt fails and triggers a combat state, break line of sight immediately and retreat along your planned escape route to reset the encounter.
