To build an effective squad in Aniimo 1.0, structure your team around four primary functions: multi-hit or area-of-effect (AOE) damage units for elemental synergy, a dedicated sustainer for party health, a crowd control unit for crowd suppression, and at least one high-mobility unit for repositioning.

Key Team Roles in Version 1.0

Balancing your lineup requires combining specific combat roles to ensure both high damage output and steady survivability.

Team RolePrimary FunctionKey Mechanics & Menu Checks
Primary DamageDelivers multi-hit and AOE burst damageTriggers Chain Reaction effects; verify multipliers in the "Synergy" tab
SustainerMaintains party health during long fightsUses "Bond" recovery traits for passive regeneration or active shielding
Crowd ControlLocks down foes and creates attack windowsApplies Interrupt or Stun; reduces enemy Break gauge to trigger Break state
Mobility AnchorRepositions the squad out of dangerUses dash or rapid-movement skills to dodge arena hazards

Maximizing Elemental Synergy

Focus on combining complementary elements rather than stacking a single element across your whole team.

  • Check the Synergy tab in your creature menu to identify which elemental combinations deliver the highest passive multipliers for your available roster.
  • Select primary damage units with multi-hit or AOE skills to trigger Chain Reaction effects, which help bypass high damage resistance on late-game enemies and clear groups of smaller foes.
  • Keep one off-element secondary damage unit leveled as a backup so your team does not stall when encountering enemies with specific elemental immunities.

Maintaining Survival and Crowd Control

High-damage squads fail if they cannot survive sustained enemy attacks or animation disruptions. Incorporate defense and control units to stabilize your rotation.

  1. Select sustainers by Bond traits: Choose healing or shielding support based on "Bond" recovery traits rather than base defensive stats. Look for passive regeneration that continues during downtime or form switches, or active shields that absorb chip damage.
  2. Deploy Interrupt and Stun skills: Swap out a secondary damage dealer for a unit with Interrupt or Stun traits if a boss frequently interrupts your attack animations.
  3. Trigger the Break state: Focus crowd control abilities on the enemy's Break gauge. Depleting this gauge forces a Break state, leaving the target immobile and vulnerable to your highest-damage combos.

Managing Positioning and Upgrade Costs

Positioning determines team survivability during wide-area boss attacks. Assign at least one creature with a dash or rapid-movement ability to serve as your squad's mobility anchor. Swapping to this unit allows you to snap into a safe formation when telegraphed hazards cover the combat area.

Because upgrading multiple creatures simultaneously drains daily resources, invest heavily in one core meta squad first. Establish a single reliable team capable of clearing high-level content before spending materials on alternative elemental lineups.
