Alongside MyGO!!!!!, Ave Mujica, and Mugendai MewType, the game introduces millsage and Ikka Dumb Rock!, bringing together 25 unique members and a mix of familiar anime material and completely original stories. Your role is to guide these bands through their performances, play through a broad song lineup, and follow the new situations that unfold around them. The narrative is presented through the Cinematic Story System, which gives characters rich expressions and movie- or anime-like movement, while special scenes add animated sequences, illustrated moments, and a wide range of visual effects. That makes the story more than a simple set of text exchanges: it is a central part of the experience, with familiar stories from MyGO!!!!!, Ave Mujica, and Mugendai MewType revisited from a game-exclusive perspective, alongside special episodes that continue their anime stories. millsage and Ikka Dumb Rock!, meanwhile, receive original stories from the beginning, giving the game a broader dramatic scope across its five-band cast.

The core loop alternates between choosing songs, performing them in rhythm gameplay, and returning to the story and performance content connected to the bands. The track list ranges from original BanG Dream! songs to popular covers, with examples including “Mayoiuta” by MyGO!!!!!, “KiLLKiSS” by Ave Mujica, “Haruhikage (MyGO!!!!! ver.),” “MUGEN MY WORLD” by Mugendai MewType, “Kishi Kaisen” by millsage, and “Homie’s Tie!!” by Ikka Dumb Rock! More cover songs are planned, while the game also gives you performance scenes and music videos from the BanG Dream! anime to watch between plays. Songs are not simply routine repetitions, however, because the new GEKISO LIVE system inserts special GEKISO sections into rhythm gameplay. These moments test more than basic completion: combos, timing precision, and luck all contribute to the challenge, creating a party-style live performance experience that supports up to five players. Assist Mode provides a more relaxed entry point for newcomers or anyone who wants to improve at their own pace, making it easier to focus on the music and story before pursuing more demanding performances.

The PC format is particularly useful when the game asks you to read timing information and react to sudden changes during a song. A larger display gives GEKISO LIVE sections more room on screen, helping you distinguish the regular rhythm flow from the special sections where combo performance, precision, and luck become important. It also makes the animated performances, music videos, illustrated scenes, and character expressions easier to follow without losing details at the edges of the screen. Keyboard input can provide clear, repeatable controls for the timed actions required throughout a performance, while the mouse is convenient for browsing the song lineup, selecting a band or track, moving through the Cinematic Story System, and switching between rhythm play, story scenes, and video content. Those controls are also useful when changing to Assist Mode for a more comfortable session or returning to a song to work on timing and combos.
