To beat Season 3 Level 20 in Battle Strategy: Tower Defense, build your primary kill zone around the early path bends using high-damage cannons and rapid-fire machine guns, deploy central anti-air coverage before mid-game aerial waves spawn, and invest your cash into upgrading existing towers rather than filling every empty tile.

Track Layout and Choke-Point Placement

The map for Level 20 features long, winding corridors with multiple tight turns. Placing defenses near the back of the route near your headquarters leaves incoming units with too much unobstructed track, forcing you into expensive emergency purchases.

Focus your initial budget on the tightest U-turn along the front-to-mid section of the enemy path:

  • Inner Bend Tiles: Position Cannon and Artillery units on the inside corners of sharp turns so their firing arcs cover enemies both approaching and leaving the bend.
  • Straight Track Edges: Place rapid-fire kinetic guns directly along straight track segments immediately following the bends to finish off damaged runners.
  • Pre-Choke Positions: Set slow and support towers just before your main cannon kill zones so incoming enemy clusters bunch up before taking explosive area-of-effect damage.

Turret Loadout and Roles

Balanced target coverage is required to prevent fast scouts from slipping through while heavy armor soaks kinetic fire.

Handling Air Units and Swarms

Aerial units appear during the middle waves and bypass road curves entirely by flying directly toward your base.

To counter air waves without losing ground control:

  1. Place anti-air batteries on central interior tiles rather than the map borders so their circular range covers both flight corridors and ground lanes.
  2. Build your first anti-air tower before the initial flight wave appears, as ground-only artillery cannot damage air targets.
  3. If fast infantry swarms begin slipping past your machine guns, upgrade an existing cannon to increase its blast yield rather than buying multiple basic turrets.

Upgrade Priority Over Grid Expansion

Filling every open build plot with Level 1 turrets will cause your defense to fail against mid- and late-stage armor. High-tier upgraded towers provide significantly more damage per second per tile than basic structures.

Use this upgrade progression through the stage:

  1. Waves 1–5: Deploy one Machine Gun and one Cannon at the primary bend, then upgrade the Cannon to Level 2.
  2. Waves 6–12: Place a central Anti-Air Turret and upgrade it immediately to secure your mid-lane against airborne threats. Add a Slow Support unit before the main bend.
  3. Waves 13–20: Upgrade core Cannons and Machine Guns to Level 3 to pierce heavy vehicle armor.

Defeating the Boss Wave

The final wave deploys heavy combat armor followed by the stage boss. If your forward emplacements damage the boss but cannot finish it before it exits their firing range, immediately sell redundant early-path towers that no longer have targets. Reinvest that recovered cash into upgrading backline turrets or placing high-tier kinetic guns along the remaining exit track to deliver the final burst damage.
