You take responsibility for the entire city: customize its development, train multiple types of troops, conduct Research to improve its growth, and decide how to turn your available forces into a more effective war machine. The game’s fantasy setting gives your army two important commanders and combat assets in the form of a powerful Dragon and faithful Knights. Your Dragon leads the army into battle, while Knights join your forces as key figures in the struggle against rival players and the brutal Monsters roaming the world. The overall goal is not simply to build a large force, but to develop a city and command structure capable of surviving attacks, defeating opponents, and contributing to larger campaigns with allies.

The central loop moves between city management, preparation, combat, and reward collection. You build and customize your City, train troops for future attacks, and use Research to boost the city’s development over time. You can also forge equipment for your Dragon, giving the commander a clear long-term progression path as you seek better ways to lead your army. Outside player-versus-player conflict, brutal Monsters provide another objective: defeating them can produce rare equipment ingredients, creating a reason to send your forces into battles that support your wider development rather than only chasing rival cities. Regular events add additional opportunities to pursue rewards. When you join an Alliance, the game expands from individual planning into coordinated play. Alliance members can chat through online real-time chat, discuss targets, and take part in Rally Wars against powerful rivals, where timing, preparation, and the combined strength of allied armies matter. On PC, a larger display gives you more room to keep your City, army information, equipment, research choices, and battle details visible while you compare priorities or prepare an attack. Keyboard-and-mouse input is also well suited to repeated management tasks, such as selecting buildings, checking troop options, reviewing Dragon equipment, and moving between development and combat screens without relying on small touch controls. The extra screen space is especially useful when planning an Alliance response or weighing whether resources should go toward training troops, advancing Research, forging equipment, or strengthening the city. Because network access is required and the game is designed around ongoing interaction with worldwide players, Blaze of Battle is best approached as a continuing strategy project: build steadily, improve your army and Dragon, coordinate with your Alliance, and choose carefully when to challenge rivals or hunt Monsters for the ingredients and rewards that keep your forces progressing.
