To beat Level 69 in Block Out, your immediate priority is creating an empty tube as early as possible. Level 69 starts with mixed color stacks that quickly lock up your move options. By isolating single-color top blocks and shifting them into matching partially filled tubes, you create the staging space necessary to reach buried colors at the bottom of the board.

Create Buffer Space Early

The main bottleneck in Level 69 is restricted board movement. Moving blocks without an empty tube available rapidly leads to deadlocks because you cannot reorder complex columns.

  • Identify isolated colors: Look for tubes where the top color can immediately move onto a matching stack in another tube.
  • Clear a full tube: Focus initial moves on emptying one or two columns completely to create "buffer" space.
  • Avoid cluttering vacant slots: Do not put random single blocks into a newly cleared tube unless it directly exposes a matching block underneath.

Consolidate Exposed Colors and Unblock Tubes

Once buffer space is open, target colors buried beneath contrasting blocks.

  1. Expose bottom colors: Target columns where removing one or two top blocks unlocks a lower color that already has an adjacent match.
  2. Handle multi-color intersections: When a tube contains three different colors, move the color that appears most frequently across the rest of the board first. This maximizes destination options for subsequent moves.
  3. Unblock key columns: Shift your attention to whichever top block is directly preventing access to the rest of a deep column.

Prevent Late-Game Deadlocks

A deadlock occurs when all tubes contain mixed colors and no top block matches any other available surface. Keep your board flexible using these strategic checks:

  • Maintain a staging tube: Keep at least one column entirely empty whenever possible to serve as a temporary holding area while re-sorting complex stacks.
  • Prevent color trapping: Never drop a single block onto a column of a different color if that target column is already full. Doing so locks the buried blocks underneath.
  • Plan moves in advance: Before shifting a block, confirm that the move will either complete a color stack or free up space for your next step.
