To pass Block League Rounds 7, 8, and 9 in Block Out, inspect the bottom of every tube before making your first move and preserve at least one completely empty tube as a staging workspace. Solve the board top-down by shifting top blocks off mixed stacks, exposing the buried bottom anchor colors, and focusing on completing one full set of four matching blocks at a time to open up additional empty tubes.
Managing Empty Tubes and Staging
Maintaining empty tube space is critical for keeping move options open throughout Block League levels.
- Reserve a workspace: Keep at least one empty tube open at all times so you can shift blocks freely and reach colors buried in the middle of a stack.
- Avoid premature filling: Do not fill your last empty tube unless that move directly completes a full color set or frees a critical anchor piece.
- Resolve color locks: Fix situations where two tubes have inverted color orders by using your open staging tube to cycle blocks out one by one.
Isolating Mixed Stacks and Bottom Layers
Deep color stacks in Rounds 7, 8, and 9 hide essential base colors under loose top layers.
- Scan bottom anchors: Identify which bottom colors are blocking progress before spending your initial moves.
- Strip top blocks: Relocate loose top blocks into partially filled secondary tubes to expose underlying color sets.
- Consolidate main colors: When handling tubes containing three distinct colors, shift the secondary colors out first to consolidate the main color into a set of four.
- Focus on single clears: Finish one full color set completely before moving on to the next to create fresh empty tubes.
Handling the Round 9 Difficulty Spike
Round 9 introduces tighter layouts that require planning two to three moves ahead. Use a destination-first approach before transferring any piece.
- Trace target paths: Check the destination of a block to verify that placing it will not cover a color stack you need to clear next.
- Protect staging space: Confirm that your open staging tube will remain accessible after completing a planned transfer sequence.
- Prioritize near-complete sets: If you run low on remaining moves, stop balancing the entire board and focus strictly on completing whichever color set is closest to finished.
