The Boat Farm Boomer loadout in Bloons TD Battles (Monkey Buccaneer, Banana Farm, and Boomerang Thrower) relies on using low-cost water defense to fund aggressive early farming, deploying Glaive Ricochet to crush mid-game regrow rushes, and using the Monkey Pirates ability to neutralize blimps.

Early-Game Setup and Farm Greed

On water-heavy maps such as Hydro Dam, Battle River, and Riverbed, open with a single Monkey Buccaneer placed on a curve where its projectiles travel down straight sections of track.

  1. Round 1: Place a 0-0 Monkey Buccaneer along an inside water bend and drop your first Banana Farm immediately.
  2. Round 2 to 3: Upgrade the Banana Farm to 1-0 and then 2-0 before investing more gold in towers.
  3. Round 4 to 5: If your opponent sends spaced pinks or fast greens, upgrade the Buccaneer to 0-1 (Grape Shot) and then 2-1 (Faster Shooting). This setup easily clears early spaced bloons without leaking lives.
  4. Round 6 to 8: Place a second Banana Farm and upgrade it to 2-0. Hold off on buying Crow’s Nests (0-2) unless your opponent invests in early spaced camo sends.

Mid-Game Rush Defense (Rounds 11 to 13)

Dense grouped bloons easily pierce-cap basic Buccaneers. Transition into a Boomerang Thrower positioned near a central intersection before Round 11 to prevent grouped bloon leaks.

Upgrade the Boomerang Thrower to a 3-0 Glaive Ricochet to handle zebra and white bloon swarms. If your opponent mixes in regular leads on Round 12, upgrade to 3-2 (Red Hot Glaives) so the ricocheting glaives pop lead layers directly.

All-Out Boosted RegrowsRound 13Activate a Tower Boost on Glaive Ricochet, or purchase 0-4 Turbo Charge

Against an all-out, boosted Round 13 regrow rush, trigger a Tower Boost on your 3-0 or 3-2 Glaive Ricochet. The attack speed bonus lets the glaives tear through rainbow layers before regrows can multiply. Alternatively, a separate 0-4 Boomerang Thrower activating its Turbo Charge ability provides the attack speed required to clear dense rushes.

Defending MOABs and BFBs with Monkey Pirates

A 0-4 Monkey Buccaneer (Monkey Pirates) provides the MOAB Takedown ability, which reels in an incoming blimp and destroys it instantly without spawning ceramic or rainbow children.

  • Round 18 MOABs: Wait until the MOAB enters the track boundary, then trigger MOAB Takedown to eliminate the blimp immediately.
  • Round 20 BFBs: Use secondary defenses like a 3-2 Destroyer to crack the outer BFB layer, then hook the remaining blimps, or hook the BFB shell if you have sufficient pierce for the ceramic fallout.
  • Handling Multiple Blimps: If an opponent sends back-to-back MOABs, sell the spent 0-4 Buccaneer and immediately buy and upgrade a new one to reset the cooldown.

Economy Management and Counter-Rushing

Maintain a cash buffer of 1,000 to 1,500 gold when entering Rounds 13, 18, and 20. Having liquid cash prevents you from being forced to sell Banana Farms at a loss during surprise attacks.

Once track defense is secure, upgrade your Banana Farms to 3-0 (Banana Plantation) and eventually 4-0 (Banana Republic).

Watch your opponent's side of the track between Rounds 12 and 16. If they invest heavily into expensive farm upgrades without adequate grouped-bloon pierce, counter-rush immediately with grouped regrow rainbows or layered rushes. If your Monkey Pirates cleanly deletes an expensive Round 18 MOAB send, counter-attack on Round 19 or 20 while their income and defenses are drained.
