To run a Super Monkey loadout successfully in competitive Bloons TD Battles arenas, pair it with Dart Monkey and Banana Farm, relying on cheap Dart Monkeys to survive early rounds while upgrading your economy. Placing a Super Monkey before the mid-game guarantees a loss against competent opponents, because its high cost leaves you defenseless against basic grouped sends. Your objective is to survive through Round 13 using minimal Dart upgrades, build your Farm economy, and buy a 2/3 Robo Monkey on Round 18 to destroy incoming MOAB-class blimps.
Early-Game Defense and Farm Build Order
Because the Super Monkey provides zero cost-effective defense over the first ten rounds, your early survival relies entirely on the Dart Monkey. Keep spending on defense to the absolute minimum so you can deploy and upgrade Banana Farms quickly.
- Round 1: Place your first Dart Monkey near a strong curve or track entrance. Place your first Banana Farm immediately. Upgrade the Dart Monkey to 0/2 (Enhanced Eyesight) only if natural bloons threaten to leak.
- Rounds 2–4: Upgrade your Banana Farm to 1/0, then 2/0. Add a second 0/0 Dart Monkey if the opponent sends spaced blue bloons.
- Rounds 5–8: Upgrade your primary Dart Monkey to 0/3 (Triple Darts) once the opponent sends grouped greens or yellows. Place and upgrade your second Banana Farm.
- Rounds 8–10: Place an additional Dart Monkey positioned directly down a long straightaway, preparing it for a Juggernaut upgrade.
Every dollar spent on unnecessary defensive towers delays your second Farm and slows down your transition to high-tier defenses.
Defending Round 13 Rushes
Round 13 is the primary benchmark for this strategy. Opponents will frequently send grouped regenerate rainbow and zebra bloons to punish your light early setup.
Hold this rush with the following setup:
- Upgrade to a 4/0 Juggernaut: Place this Dart Monkey so its spiked balls shoot down the longest straight path. Its high pierce strips layers from dense bloon packs.
- Support with 0/3 Triple Darts: Place two to three Triple Darts monkeys directly behind the Juggernaut to clean up residual black and pink bloons.
- Trigger a Tower Boost if Necessary: Use a single Tower Boost if the rush overwhelms your track. If the opponent commits all their money to an all-out send, sell a Farm upgrade to purchase a 0/4 Super Monkey Fan Club.
Tower Roles and Limitations
Because the Super Monkey lacks Camo detection in this build, your Dart Monkeys must handle early detection and ceramic clean-up while the Super Monkey targets blimp armor.
| Tower Upgrade | Primary Role | Key Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| 0/3 Triple Darts | Early bloon defense and cleanup | Lacks pierce against dense ceramic rushes |
| 4/0 Juggernaut | Straight-line choke control and high pierce | Requires straight track paths to be effective |
| 0/4 Super Monkey Fan Club | Emergency burst damage via ability | Long cooldown leaves you exposed if mistimed |
| 2/3 Robo Monkey | Heavy MOAB and BFB single-target damage | Blind to Camo bloons without team support |
Keep your 0/2 Enhanced Eyesight Dart Monkeys stationed near the front and middle of the track to ensure Camo bloons do not slip through undetected.
Banana Farm Management and Blimp Transitions
Sustaining Super Monkeys requires high cash flow that natural eco cannot supply. Upgrade at least two Banana Farms to 3/2 Plantations by Round 16. If your opponent does not pressure you, build a third Plantation or upgrade to a 4/2 Banana Research Facility.
When Round 18 arrives, initiate your Super Monkey transition:
- Place a Super Monkey near the center of the track to maximize its coverage and upgrade it to a 2/3 Robo Monkey.
- Target the Robo Monkey to Strong so its dual plasma blasts pound the exterior shells of MOABs and BFBs, allowing your Dart Monkeys to clean up the ceramic bloons inside.
- If the opponent sends a sudden Round 20 BFB or Round 22 ZOMG, sell your lowest-tier Farm immediately. The cash refund lets you quickly purchase Plasma Blasts (2/0) or an additional Robo Monkey to melt the rush before it reaches the exit.
Once your defense stabilizes against mid-game blimps, counter-attack with grouped ceramics or a fast-cooldown BFB to drain the opponent's cash and prevent them from matching your late-game setup.
