To survive high-round rushes in Bloons TD Battles, you must sacrifice at least $30,000 worth of towers from four specific categories into the Super Monkey before purchasing the Temple of the Monkey God upgrade. Upgrading a raw Super Monkey without sacrifices creates an underpowered Temple that cannot pop fortified Round 32+ ZOMGs, wasting your economy and losing the match.

Tower Sacrifice Categories and Weapon Effects

When you purchase the Temple upgrade, the Super Monkey destroys every tower within its footprint and absorbs their gold value into specialized sub-weapons. Spending up to $30,000 in a category unlocks its maximum weapon tier; spending less results in weaker sub-weapons, while spending more than $30,000 yields no additional benefit.

Calculate your sacrifices using total tower purchase and upgrade costs. Upgrading towers to tier four—such as 4-2 MOAB Maulers or 4-2 Bloon Dissolvers—allows you to reach the $30,000 cap quickly while saving placement space inside the Super Monkey's radius.

CategoryEligible TowersTemple Benefit

Required Support and Camo Detection

A fully sacrificed Temple cannot defend your track alone. The Temple lacks innate Camo bloon detection, meaning an unsupported Temple will completely ignore incoming Camo rushes and Camo Leads.

  • Monkey Village (2-3 or 2-4): Place a Monkey Intelligence Bureau (MIB) or Call to Arms directly beside the finished Temple. This grants universal Camo detection and ensures all Temple attacks damage every bloon type.
  • 0-4 Ninja Monkey (Bloon Sabotage): Activate this ability during heavy blimp rounds to cut incoming bloon and ZOMG movement speed by half.
  • 0-4 Ice Tower (Absolute Zero): Triggers a screen-wide freeze and slows MOAB-class targets.
  • 0-4 Bloonchipper (Super Vac): Pulls back leaking MOAB layers and ceramic clusters into the Temple’s main firing path.

Safe Transition Sequence

Do not initiate a Temple transition until your Banana Farms generate between $150,000 and $180,000 in liquid capital. You must afford the base Super Monkey, its upgrade path, $120,000 across the four sacrifice pools, and immediate support buildings.

  1. Build Economy: Maximize multiple 4-2 Banana Research Facilities by Round 25 to establish late-game income.
  2. Anchor Track Defense: Rely on mid-game towers, such as a 2-3 Robo-Monkey or tier-four Dartling Guns, so you do not leak while banking cash.
  3. Position the Super Monkey: Place the Super Monkey in the center of the map to ensure its massive attack range covers multiple track loops and intersections.
  4. Pack Sacrifices: Place $30,000 worth of towers from each of the four categories tightly within the Super Monkey's footprint.
  5. Upgrade to Temple: Purchase the Temple of the Monkey God tier-four upgrade, immediately absorbing the clustered towers.
  6. Deploy Utility: Build your Monkey Village and stalling towers next to the completed Temple. Never place utility towers inside the radius prior to upgrading, or the Temple will consume them.
