To beat Level 205 in Candy Crush Saga, clear the multi-layer frosting blockers across the bottom of the board before trying to force ingredients downward. Ingredients—cherries and hazelnuts—can only exit the board through the bottom collection arrows. If the bottom tiles remain blocked by meringue frosting, ingredients cannot drop, and moves spent matching candies higher on the board are wasted.

Once the bottom lanes are open, clear paths using vertically oriented striped candies and avoid shifting ingredients into blocked side columns.

Step 1: Break Bottom Frosting to Open Exit Lanes

The exit arrows sit at the bottom edge of the board. Leaving the bottom-most frosting intact prevents ingredients from leaving the grid, regardless of how many matches you make above them.

  • Work in the bottom third: Focus matches directly against the lowest frosting layers. Clearing lower tiles triggers natural cascades above, which often breaks additional blockers without costing extra moves.
  • Keep ingredients in open lanes: Avoid horizontal switches that slide an ingredient into an adjacent column unless that column's exit is already clear. Moving an ingredient above intact frosting forces you to clear an entirely new set of blockers.

Step 2: Manage Licorice Swirls Without Wasting Specials

Licorice swirls stop the clearing beam of a striped candy completely. If a licorice swirl sits between a vertical striped candy and the bottom arrow, detonating the stripe only destroys the licorice swirl and leaves the ingredient stranded mid-board.

  • Clear swirls with standard matches: Make adjacent three-candy matches to remove licorice swirls manually before triggering line blasts.
  • Watch the dispensers: Avoid unnecessary matches directly beneath licorice dispensers unless you are clearing an active ingredient lane. Pulling fresh licorice onto the board clogs your cleared paths.

Step 3: Craft and Align Special Candy Combinations

Dropping ingredients through the remaining board depth within the move limit requires targeted special candies:

  1. Vertical Striped Candies: Match four candies in a horizontal row to create a candy with vertical stripes. Detonating this in the same column as an ingredient clears the entire lane and drops the ingredient directly out, provided no licorice blocks the path.
  2. Striped + Wrapped Combination: Combining a striped candy with a wrapped candy clears a three-row by three-column cross. This blast strips multiple layers off dense frosting patches and pulls down ingredients across adjacent lanes simultaneously.
  3. Color Bomb + Striped Candy: Combining a color bomb with any striped candy converts all candies of that color into striped candies and detonates them across the board. This interaction clears heavy blocker layouts and routinely drops multiple active ingredients in a single move.

Endgame Execution

When five to eight moves remain, check whether any ingredient sits only one or two tiles above an open exit arrow. A standard match underneath the ingredient is safer and more move-efficient than attempting to build a complex combination. Only spend turns assembling special candies in the late game if an ingredient remains trapped near the top of the grid.
