To beat Level 86 in Candy Crush Saga, prioritize clearing the blockers in the lower half of the board right away. Breaking bottom obstacles opens the grid, restores candy flow, and triggers automatic gravity cascades that clear jellies without consuming extra moves.

Level 86 Objectives and Board Obstacles

Level 86 requires you to clear every jelly square on the board before exhausting your move budget. Early in the level, candy circulation is severely constricted by tightly clustered icing and blockers, limiting your opening options primarily to small matches in the upper rows.

Board ElementHit RequirementPrimary DangerBest Tactic
Double Jelly2 hits (matches or specials)Trapped under blockers; drains turnsHit with Striped and Wrapped combos
Single Jelly1 hit (match or special)Stranded along bordersClear through secondary cascades

Edge / Corner Squares1–2 hitsFew match angles availableTarget with horizontal or vertical Striped Candies

Double jelly requires two separate impacts to clear completely. Because these tiles often sit beneath blockers or near the edges, haphazard matching will quickly exhaust your turns without clearing the objective.

Clear Bottom Blockers to Trigger Cascades

Always prioritize matches in the lower section of the board over matches near the top. When candies clear at the base, the entire column above falls into the empty spaces:

  1. Break lower blockers: Make adjacent matches against icing in the bottom third of the board to establish candy circulation.
  2. Let gravity work: Dropping candies frequently trigger spontaneous matches and accidental special candies, eliminating jellies passively.
  3. Conserve moves: A high match shifts only a few candies above it, while a low match restructures multiple columns at once.

Only take top-row matches when they directly form a useful special candy or clear an isolated jelly tile you cannot reach otherwise.

Form and Combine Special Candies

Simple three-candy matches cannot clear the entire board within the move limit. You must build and combine special candies to clear multi-layered clusters and stubborn rows:

  • Striped Candy + Wrapped Candy: Swapping these two specials creates a clearing blast three rows high and three columns wide. Detonating this combo in the lower or central section tears through blockers and clears double jellies in a single turn.
  • Color Bomb + Striped Candy: Combining a Color Bomb with any Striped Candy transforms every candy of that color on the board into an active Striped Candy before detonating them all. This reaches every corner and strips away buried jelly tiles across the grid.
  • Solo Specials: Avoid firing isolated Striped or Wrapped candies unless necessary. A lone special candy clears a limited area; saving it to pair with another special yields much greater board coverage.

Clean Up Edge and Corner Jelly

Corners and outer edges present the highest failure risk on Level 86 because they offer very few matching angles. While central jelly clears naturally through cascades and combo blasts, perimeter tiles frequently survive into the final turns.

Monitor edge tiles throughout the attempt rather than saving them for your last few moves. If a natural match-three appears along an outer column or the bottom row, take it immediately to clear the jelly. When direct matches are impossible, align horizontal or vertical Striped Candies with those perimeter rows and columns to snipe the remaining jelly squares from across the board.
