Selecting the Active Character

Jonathan and Charlotte fill distinct combat roles. Matching each character's strengths to the encounter prevents resource exhaustion and speeds up combat.

Managing Dual Health and Magic Pools

Health Recovery: When a character takes heavy damage, swap them off-field immediately. Off-field characters can passively regenerate health over time when equipped with specific gear.
MP Conservation: Charlotte's combat utility depends on her MP. If her MP empties, rotate back to Jonathan so she can passively regenerate magic while off-field.
Game Over Condition: If an active or inactive character loses all HP, the run ends. Monitor both health bars constantly, even during simple fights.

Executing Combined Attacks

Combined attacks deal massive damage by combining both characters' capabilities into a single strike.

Confirm that both Jonathan and Charlotte are present on screen.
Check that both characters have enough MP to cover the high activation cost.

Input the combined attack command to strike.

Do not trigger combined attacks randomly. Because these abilities consume significant MP from both characters and leave them stationary during execution, missing an attack wastes resources and exposes both heroes to incoming damage.

The tag system is required for solving environmental puzzles and surviving heavy hazard zones inside the castle.
