To execute a Queen Charge Root Rider attack in Clash of Clans, deploy your Archer Queen backed by Healers to dismantle high-value defenses on one side of the base. Once she creates a funnel, send your Root Riders directly into the remaining base compartments to crush walls, clear the core alongside your support army, and finish with cleanup forces.
Step 1: Start the Queen Charge Funnel
Begin the attack by dropping the Archer Queen and a group of Healers near a corner or defensive compartment containing high-value targets.
- Primary Targets: Direct the Queen toward major threats such as the Eagle Artillery, Scattershots, or the enemy Clan Castle.
- Survival: Cast Rage Spells on your Healers when the Queen faces heavy incoming damage. Use Freeze Spells on single-target Inferno Towers, Monoliths, or Ricochet Cannons to prevent her from taking single-target bursts.
- Ability Timing: Trigger the Queen’s skill or drop an immediate Rage Spell if she takes simultaneous fire from multiple high-damage structures.
Her main objective is to carve out a wide path. This prevents your core army from splitting up along the exterior of the village.
Step 2: Push Root Riders into the Core
Deploy your Root Riders as the Queen finishes destroying her designated compartment. Because Root Riders crush walls automatically as they move forward, they do not require Wall Breakers or Jump Spells to open up the base interior.
- Entry Point: Send the Root Riders through the wall opening adjacent to the Queen's cleared area, creating a direct pathway toward the Town Hall.
- Support Deployment: Follow immediately behind the Root Riders with your Grand Warden and secondary troops like Valkyries.
- Warden Protection: Trigger the Grand Warden's Eternal Tome ability when your main army approaches high-damage threats, such as the Town Hall Giga Inferno or concentrated trap zones.
| Spell | Core Purpose | Deployment Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Rage Spell | Boosts damage and speed through dense core structures | Drop inside the core where defensive density is highest. |
| Freeze Spell | Temporarily disables single-target threats | Cast on Monoliths or Ricochet Cannons locking onto heroes. |
| Earthquake Spell | Softens high-health buildings | Drop on core building clusters to speed up push momentum. |
Step 3: Deploy the Royal Champion and Cleanup Troops
Deploy the Royal Champion once the Root Riders enter the center of the base. She acts as a targeted clean-up force, moving quickly across broken walls to destroy isolated defenses like Archer Towers or hidden Teslas while the main army absorbs core damage.
Reserve a small squad of low-housing units, such as Archers or Minions, throughout the phase. Drop these units on peripheral buildings behind the main force to destroy non-defensive structures and avoid timing out before securing 100% destruction.
Requirements and Strategy Limitations
- Hero Levels: This strategy depends heavily on hero stats. Your Archer Queen and Grand Warden should be near the maximum level allowed by your Town Hall level to sustain the charge and protect the army.
- Single Point of Failure: If the Archer Queen dies early or strays from her funnel path, the army loses its target shaping. Practice entry angles in friendly challenges to reliably predict hero pathing before using the strategy in Clan War matches.

Good guide for Clash of Clans players. The strategy part was useful.
Nice guide. I am checking the other Clash of Clans articles next.
Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
