To 3-star the John Cena Challenge in Clash of Clans, funnel your strike force through the high-damage core compartment, preserve your heroes behind front-line tanks, and trigger the Grand Warden's Eternal Tome as the Town Hall activates. Clearing perimeter anchors before committing your main army prevents troops from circling the exterior walls and ensures your heavy hitters path directly into the core defenses.
Phase 1: Establish the Funnel and Check for Traps
Do not deploy your main push immediately. If outer buildings remain intact, your heavy hitters will peel away from the center and wrap around the exterior walls.
- Prune exterior trash buildings: Drop light support units on isolated perimeter structures along the two outer flanks. Clear these anchor points early so your primary units have no target path except inward.
- Trigger perimeter traps: Deploy single test units ahead of your flanking forces. The outer perimeter features hidden Giant Bombs and Spring Traps designed to wipe out grouped support troops.
- Establish lane boundaries: Confirm that both flanking compartments are cleared before deploying heroes. Once the boundary buildings fall, the remaining target path forces your main squad into the core.
Phase 2: Push into the Central Corridor
Once the outer funnel is set, commit your main ground assault into the cleared lane.
Lead the entry with the Barbarian King to absorb fire from Multi-Inferno Towers and Scattershots. Deploy ranged support units and the Grand Warden immediately behind your frontline tank. Keep your squad compact enough to stay within the Grand Warden’s aura, but avoid tightly stacked deployments that allow Scattershots to hit multiple unit groups simultaneously.
Hold all hero active abilities during this initial entry phase. Allow base health pools to soak early incoming damage while your ranged troops punch through the initial wall barrier.
Phase 3: Time Spells for Core Defenses
The core contains the highest concentration of burst damage. Misplaced spells will cause the push to stall before clearing the Town Hall.
| Defense Target | Spell Choice | Deployment Window |
|---|---|---|
| Town Hall Weapon | Freeze / Invisibility | Drop as soon as the Town Hall weapon activates to prevent defensive beam bursts. |
| Scattershot Clusters | Rage / Skeleton Spell | Cast when approaching splash zones to overwhelm burst fire and distract single targets. |
| Multi-Inferno Towers | Freeze | Deploy when multiple beams lock onto fragile ranged support units. |
| Clan Castle Troops | Poison / Utility Support | Center directly over defending units the moment they exit the Clan Castle. |
Deploy Rage spells directly where your primary squad meets high-hitpoint structures. Destroying the Town Hall quickly avoids prolonged exposure to weapon fire and secondary blast hazards.
Phase 4: Hero Abilities and Cleanup
Manage your final abilities and remaining units to close out the base:
- Grand Warden: Trigger Eternal Tome as your army engages the Town Hall. This grants total invulnerability against the Town Hall's high-damage defense and subsequent detonation damage.
- Barbarian King and Archer Queen: Activate abilities once hero health bars drop below 50%. The summoned units distract lingering single-target defenses while your surviving ranged troops clean out back-end compartments.
- Cleanup Units: Hold two to three support troops in reserve during the core fight. Once defensive structures are destroyed, place these units on isolated corner buildings or distant resource collectors to prevent a time-out failure.
