To play the Goblin Machine and Bowler control deck in Clash Royale, anchor your defense near the center of your side to activate the Goblin Machine’s back-mounted rocket artillery, pull attackers into splash damage using Tornado, and convert surviving defenders into counter-pushes during Double and Triple Elixir.
Core Deck Card Roles
This archetype relies on heavy ground control and ranged artillery to halt pushes before launching counter-attacks.
| Card | Elixir Cost | Role | Key Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| Goblin Machine | 5 | Main Tank / Artillery | Fires rockets at distant troops and buildings while absorbing damage. |
| Goblin Demolisher | 4 | Secondary Brawler / Splash | Deals ground splash and charges to self-destruct when below 50% health. |
| Bowler | 5 | Ground Control / Knockback | Pushes back medium ground units into Goblin Machine rocket trajectory. |
| Tornado | 3 | Spell / Crowd Control | Groups split or dispersed attackers into splash damage zones. |
| Little Prince | 3 | Ranged DPS / Ability | Delivers sustained fire and uses the Guardian dash for emergency knockback. |
| Arrows / The Log | 3 / 2 | Small Spell / Swarm Removal | Clears Skeletons, Bats, Goblins, or Minions before they overwhelm your tanks. |
Defensive Positioning and Tornado Combos
Do not deploy the Goblin Machine at the bridge during Single Elixir. The unit’s rocket activates when targets enter its engagement range, making a central placement in front of the King Tower optimal. This positioning lets Princess Towers assist with incoming ground pushes while the Goblin Machine shells backline troops.
- Cluster Attackers with Tornado: When an opponent sends split units or spreads out support troops like Musketeers or Archers, cast Tornado to pull them into the same lane. This clusters them directly into the path of Bowler boulders and Goblin Machine rockets.
- Avoid Spell Stacking: Keep Bowler and Goblin Machine placed at least four tiles apart. Grouping them closely gives opponents high-value Lightning or Rocket targets.
- Stop Tank-Killers: If facing single-target threats such as Inferno Dragon or Mighty Miner, keep ranged units separated from the Goblin Machine. Activate the Little Prince's Guardian ability or use Tornado to drag the attacker out of its lock-on range.
Counter-Pushing and Matchup Strategy
The deck transitions from steady defense in Single Elixir to heavy pressure once elixir generation ramps up.
- Defend with Low Commitments: Rely on Bowler or Little Prince backed by small spells to stop bridge spam without overspending early.
- Support Surviving Tanks: When the Goblin Machine survives a defensive stand with remaining health, drop a ranged unit or Goblin Demolisher behind it as it crosses the river.
- Double and Triple Elixir Pressure: Deploy the Goblin Machine in the back and stagger Goblin Demolisher in the same lane. When the Demolisher falls below half health, its self-destruct sprint forces the defender to answer two high-damage threats at once.
- Bypassing Defensive Buildings: Because the Goblin Machine's rocket can strike across the river, it chips away at Cannons and Inferno Towers placed in the center, clearing lanes directly toward the Crown Tower.
- Conserve Low-Cost Spells Against Bait: When facing spell-bait archetypes, save Arrows or The Log strictly for primary win conditions like Goblin Barrel rather than cycling them on neutral bridge troops.

I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
Nice guide. I am checking the other Clash Royale articles next.
