Clash Royale Golem Deck Defense Tips

When a Golem push starts, identify its support troops first. Use a building to pull the Golem toward the center, then pressure the opposite lane if you can afford to do so without weakening your defense.

Prioritize the support troops

The Golem can absorb damage while troops behind it support the push. Watch for cards such as Night Witch, Electro Dragon, or Mega Minion, and direct your available ranged units or spells at the support when they are in range. If you focus only on the Golem, its support can remain intact as the push advances.

Pull the Golem inward

A Bomb Tower or Tesla placed in the center can draw the Golem away from its lane and give your Princess Towers more time to attack. If the building is destroyed, cheap units such as Skeletons or Ice Spirit can serve as another distraction, provided they are available.

If the opponent uses a spell or troop to disrupt your defense, reassess the Golem’s path and use another distraction only if you can spare it. Don’t rely on a single building if the opponent is consistently removing it with spells such as Lightning or Poison.

Counterpush only when you can spare Elixir

A Golem placed at the back may leave the opposite lane open for pressure. A counterpush there can make the opponent choose between defending that lane and adding support to the Golem push. But don’t spend so much on the counterpush that you can’t defend the Golem and its accompanying troops.

Keep enough Elixir and cards available to address the push in front of you. The draft’s specific Elixir-cost comparisons don’t establish a universal target for a favorable defense, so judge the trade by what you spend and what remains to stop the attack.
