To beat Level 610 in Colony Flow! (labeled as Level 680 in select game versions), clear the outer perimeter ants that have direct, unobstructed routes to matching exit gates before tapping any interior units. Keeping your limited holding dock free of mismatched units prevents gridlock while you unlock interior paths.
Clearing the Outer Grid
Level 610 packs central ants behind multiple outer rings. Ants of different colors share bottleneck paths that lead toward the exits, meaning an incorrect move order causes collisions or fills your dock prematurely.
Before taking any action, inspect the grid to find ants with straight paths directly to open gates:
- Tap direct-exit edge ants: Send units directly into matching collection gates to open space on the board without using dock capacity.
- Clear corner positions: Freeing the corners establishes wider turning angles for interior units that must route around central clusters.
- Leave blocked interior units untouched: Do not tap interior ants that cannot complete their path in one move. Staging them in the dock early reduces the space needed to handle complex clearing sequences.
Holding Dock Management
The holding dock at the bottom of the screen stores ants temporarily, but filling it without completing color sets creates an unrecoverable fail state. Treat dock slots as an emergency buffer rather than casual storage.
| Dock Factor | Target Rule | Consequence of Failure |
|---|---|---|
| Available Space | Keep at least 2 to 3 slots open at all times. | Sudden failure when an unexpected path block occurs. |
| Color Sets | Park ants only if they complete an active set of three. | Idle single units block slots indefinitely. |
| Gate Availability | Move an ant to the dock only if its target gate opens next. | Staged units remain stuck with no exit path. |
Stationary ants on the main grid do not count against your loss condition. A blocked ant resting on the board is safe, but a blocked ant sitting in the dock restricts every subsequent move.
Mid-Game Sequencing and Intersection Priority
Once the perimeter opens up, central corridors converge into shared intersections. Prevent traffic jams by focusing on one color family at a time rather than clearing mixed units across the board.
When two colored paths cross at an intersection, determine which movement frees additional board space. If clearing a red line unlocks trapped blue and yellow ants behind it, route the red line first. Clearing catalyst colors creates cascading openings that convert congested intersections into direct paths. Alternating between different colors leaves half-cleared lines that block multiple lanes simultaneously.
Resolving Late-Stage Jams
The final stretch often leaves four to six ants locked in central spaces with only one or two dock slots remaining.
- Trace paths in reverse: Trace backward from the collection gates to determine which trapped ant sits closest to its exit.
- Sacrifice a single slot for a cascade: Placing one blocker ant into your open dock slot is worthwhile only if doing so immediately lets a set of three matching ants reach their goal and clear the grid.
- Check cross-trajectories: Before tapping your final units, confirm that the departure line of one ant does not physically intersect the active transit route of another.
Route the remaining matched units directly into their target gates to clear the stage.

This saved me time in the early game.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
This guide answered the exact question I had.
