To win PvP matches with ULTRA Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta (UG4) in DRAGON BALL LEGENDS, rely on his defensive Unique Gauge to interrupt enemy offensive momentum, chain attacks using timed cover nullification, and reserve his two Ultimate Arts cards to close out late-game deficits.
Managing the Unique Gauge Counters
UG4's primary defensive tool is an automatic Unique Gauge counter that activates up to three times per battle. When the gauge is fully charged, taking hits or standing in neutral triggers an automatic counter against enemy Strike Arts, Blast Arts, tackle attacks, and forward-charging Special Move Arts.
Each counter activation:
- Completely empties the Unique Gauge.
- Grants Ki and draws a card.
- Restores the Vanishing Gauge to full.
- Resets neutral positioning so you can initiate attacks safely.
Because the counter restores your Vanish, avoid burning your Vanishing step while the Unique Gauge is full. Let the counter absorb standard attack chains instead.
However, the gauge has strict defensive limitations:
- Rising Rush: The counter does not activate against an incoming Rising Rush.
- Ultimate and Awakened Arts: Enemy Ultimate and Awakened Arts pierce directly through the gauge counter and must be dodged manually or absorbed by bench switching.
- Depletion limit: Once all three counter charges are consumed across the match, UG4 loses his automatic combo-breaker and must rely on standard neutral spacing.
Leveraging Cover Nullification and Blast Armor
UG4 ignores defensive switch-ins by gaining cover change nullification upon entering the battlefield. Pair this window with his Strike Arts Blast Armor to charge through incoming Ki blasts and begin combos without interruption.
To extend offensive pressure, time his Special Arts (Green Card) carefully:
- Combo extension: Activating a Special Arts mid-combo grants an additional window of cover change nullification, restores Ki, draws a card, and slightly reduces ally substitution counts.
- Card economy: Avoid using the Special Arts when your hand is empty. Use it after drawing fresh offensive cards so the cover nullification window is not wasted during dead timer counts.
Sequencing Double Ultimate Arts
UG4 can obtain two copies of his Ultimate Arts, Big Bang Kamehameha x100. The first is drawn via his main ability, and a second copy can be drawn through kit passives when battle conditions are met late in the match, such as after allies are defeated. Both activations deal supreme impact damage, recover UG4's health, and nullify enemy Endurance effects.
| Sequence Phase | Target Priority | Tactical Function |
|---|---|---|
| First Ultimate | Primary offensive carry or Endurance-based tank | Cuts through Endurance, restores health, and levels the match count. |
| Neutral Reset | Incoming neutral threats | Use tap blasts, side-steps, and gauge counters to recharge Ki while stalling for the second Ultimate. |
| Second Ultimate | Final anchor or high-defense unit | Deals unendurable burst damage to eliminate remaining opposing units. |
Track enemy substitution timers before launching an Ultimate. Do not expend an Endurance-nullifying Ultimate into a Revival unit's first health bar, as Revival mechanics bypass Endurance nullification.
Team Compositions and Matchup Strategy
UG4 holds the Fusion Warrior, GT, and Saiyan tags, and he can also run in the Leader Slot on other team archetypes.
- Fusion Warrior Core: Run UG4 alongside units like ULTRA Vegito Blue or Fusing Super Vegito. Use Zenkai bench support such as RED Super Gogeta and GRN Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks to stack Strike Attack, Blast Defense, and base Health.
- GT Core: Pair UG4 with LF Super Baby 2 for team healing and LF Omega Shenron for Rush safety. Bench units such as GRN Super Saiyan 4 Goku and BLU Pan provide necessary defensive stat padding.
In competitive matches, avoid deploying UG4 as the initial battle lead if the opponent runs strong PUR units that counter GRN fighters. Start with an agile teammate to draw out the opponent's early Vanishing step or absorb opening attacks, then switch into UG4 to trigger his entry cover nullification and seize priority. When trapped against a color disadvantage, use blast armor to contest mid-range spacing and rely on the Unique Gauge counter to force a safe switch back to an allied counter.
