To maintain a steady supply of Potential Orbs in DRAGON BALL Z DOKKAN BATTLE, complete the daily type-specific Growth events, select orb bundles from Porunga celebration wishes, clear milestone challenge battles, and exchange farmable Incredible Gems in the Baba Shop. Restricting 100% grid activation to essential characters prevents sudden shortages across Small, Medium, and Large orb reserves.
Daily Growth Event Paths and Schedule
The daily Hidden Potential stages under the Growth event tab provide the primary recurring source of orbs. Each weekday features a single character type:
- Monday: AGL
- Tuesday: TEQ
- Wednesday: INT
- Thursday: STR
- Friday: PHY
During specific major celebrations, all five stages may open concurrently on weekends.
Each stage map contains three branching routes dedicated to a specific orb size:
- Left Path: Small Potential Orbs
- Center Path: Medium Potential Orbs
- Right Path: Large Potential Orbs
Because unlocking grid routes and skill nodes consumes Medium Orbs in high quantities, the center path serves as the most practical default choice unless your inventory has an acute shortage of Small or Large orbs. Before completing your movement, check the board for an alternate boss tile. Defeating the extra enemy alongside the main stage boss provides bonus orb drops for the same stamina cost.
Celebration Wishes and High-Yield Challenge Stages
Large batches of orbs come from limited-time campaign summons and permanent high-difficulty first clears.
Porunga Dragon Ball Wishes
Major worldwide and anniversary celebrations frequently introduce Porunga Dragon Ball sets. Summoning Porunga allows you to make three wishes from a selection list. The Potential Orb wish grants thousands of Small, Medium, and Large orbs across all five typings simultaneously. Because standard awakening medals and training items can be farmed continuously year-round, prioritizing the orb package offers far greater account value.
One-Time First-Clear Rewards
Several permanent and semi-permanent challenge modes reward orbs upon initial stage completion:
- Dokkan All-Stars: Grants progressive orb batches as you clear milestone levels.
- Super Battle Road (SBR) & Extreme Super Battle Road (ESBR): Award large quantities of designated type orbs per stage clear.
- Extreme Z-Battles (EZB): Completing levels up to stage 30 grants hundreds of type-specific orbs through clear rewards and mission milestones.
| Orb Source | Reward Typing | Availability | Farming Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daily Growth Stages | Daily element (S, M, L) | Daily limit | High (Routine) |
| Porunga Campaign Wishes | All 5 elements simultaneously | Celebration periods | Highest |
| Dokkan All-Stars / SBR / ESBR | Specific element per stage | One-time first clear | High (Milestone) |
| Incredible Gem Exchange | Selected element packs | Restocked / Renewable | Medium (Targeted) |
| Battlefield Memory Exchange | Selected element packs | Monthly / Seasonal | Low (Emergency only) |
Baba Shop Exchanges and Currency Trade-offs
When daily runs and missions do not cover an immediate awakening, the Baba Shop offers direct orb purchases using event currencies.
- Incredible Gems (Green and Blue): Farmed from Quest Dokkan Story stages. These gems are fully renewable, making them the safest currency to spend on type orb packs when an unexpected Extreme Z-Awakening drains your reserves.
- Battlefield Memories: Earned through Virtual Dokkan Ultimate Clash. While orbs are available in this exchange shop, Battlefield Memories are strictly limited each season and are required to purchase exclusive LR characters such as Metal Cooler Corps and the Shadow Dragons. Only trade Battlefield Memories for orbs if your key shop LRs are already completed or a critical endgame clear depends on it.
Managing Orb Expenditure
Running out of orbs typically occurs from fully activating the Hidden Potential grids of secondary or bench characters. Fully unlocking a unit from 0% to 100% requires thousands of Small, hundreds of Medium, and dozens of Large orbs.
To preserve your stock for critical releases, allocate orbs using the following priority:
- Top-Tier Dokkan Festival Exclusives and LRs: Prioritize opening the bottom-right path first, followed by the top-left path, as these grant the highest offensive and defensive stat boosts and skill nodes.
- Key Extreme Z-Awakened (EZA) Units: Invest orbs into older units receiving relevant EZA upgrades to secure their improved passive thresholds.
- Support and General-Pool Units: Leave general-pool SSRs at 55% activation (no duplicate paths opened) until they are actively required to clear an Extreme Z-Area, Prime Battle restriction, or Category mission.

Nice guide. I am checking the other DRAGON BALL Z DOKKAN BATTLE articles next.
This saved me time in the early game.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
