To push past high Trial levels such as Trial 171 in Eternium, equip four pieces of the Havoc set alongside two pieces of the Demolitionist set. This hybrid configuration trades the full six-piece Havoc capstone for the early damage perks of both sets, pairing Havoc missile salvos with Demolitionist explosive amplification. Reaching approximately 45% to 50% cooldown reduction from Ability Rate is required to keep defensive and burst skills cycling reliably.

Armor Setup and Stat Priorities

Distribute your armor slots to reach the 4-piece Havoc and 2-piece Demolitionist thresholds. Allocate Demolitionist to the gloves and pants, then fill the remaining slots with Havoc armor.

For weapons and accessories:

  • Weapons: Equip Havoc pistols or high-damage pushing weapons focused on physical and fire scaling.
  • Bracers and Belt: Select options that directly boost your primary explosive attack.
  • Jewelry: Craft rings and amulets focused purely on offensive stats: Critical Damage, Critical Rating, Ability Rate, and Power.

Abilities and Passive Synergies

This setup relies on continuous explosive splash damage to proc tracking missiles while reserving high-damage cooldowns for dense packs and bosses.

Active Skills

  • Explosive Shot (Primary Attack): Fires area-of-effect explosive rounds that continuously trigger set bonuses.
  • Snipe: Provides heavy single-target burst to finish elites and boss health phases.
  • Heatseekers: Launches tracking missiles that benefit from Havoc cooldown and missile bonuses.
  • Smoke Screen: Acts as an emergency defensive skill that breaks crowd control, drops target aggro, and grants time to reposition.

Passives

  • Pathfinder: Increases movement speed for perimeter kiting and amplifies physical damage.
  • Celerity: Increases attack speed, accelerating cooldown recovery.
  • Piercing Rounds: Allows primary fire to penetrate frontline targets and hit clustered mobs behind them.

High Trial Mob Clear Strategy

Bounty Hunters lack innate armor, making stray hits from high-tier elites lethal. Clear mob phases efficiently with disciplined grouping:

  1. Herd the Pack: Make wide circular sweeps around the arena to pull distant enemy packs into a tight group. Hold your fire during the pull so trailing mobs do not stall outside the cluster.
  2. Stutter-Step Primary Attacks: Once enemies cluster, fire two to three rounds of Explosive Shot, step backward to cancel the firing recovery animation, and repeat.
  3. Deploy Burst Cooldowns: Launch Heatseekers into the dense cluster. Save Snipe for high-threat elite units or after missile procs soften priority targets.
  4. Manage Dangerous Affixes: Watch for elites with Reflect Damage, Vortex, or Mortar. When an elite activates Reflect Damage, stop casting Snipe, kite around the perimeter, and use Smoke Screen immediately if you take reflected damage.

Magroth Boss Fight Tactics

Spawning Magroth in Trial 171 requires shifting from area-of-effect grouping to perimeter kiting:

  • Maintain Maximum Distance: Stick to the outer walls of the arena. Keep your distance so Havoc missiles have travel time while keeping you safely outside Magroth's melee cleave.
  • Dodge the Leap: Watch for Magroth's jump animation. The moment he takes off, step sharply away from your current position to clear the landing shockwave.
  • Burst During Recovery Windows: After completing a ground strike or leap, Magroth pauses briefly in a recovery state. Cast Snipe and trigger Heatseekers directly into this window to deal safe, unpunished damage.
  • Break Corners With Smoke Screen: If Magroth traps you against obstacles or arena walls, trigger Smoke Screen immediately. This resets his tracking, allowing you to walk directly through him to regain open space on the opposite side.

Build Trade-Offs

Dropping the 6-piece Havoc bonus reduces sustained missile saturation during lengthy boss fights. To offset the missing sustained damage, you must attack continuously with Explosive Shot during safe windows.

If your gear lacks the 45% to 50% cooldown reduction threshold, your rotation will stall. Inadequate Ability Rate leaves you vulnerable without Smoke Screen charges and delays critical Snipe windows during boss recovery phases. Prioritize Ability Rate rolls across armor and jewelry before pushing high-tier floors.
