To level your Crafting Mastery to rank 50 quickly in Eternium, repeatedly forge Uncommon (green) armor at the Blacksmith and immediately salvage every piece to recycle your base materials. Reaching Mastery level 50 is critical before crafting permanent gear because it maximizes your passive chance to forge items above level 70 up to the equipment cap of level 77.
Crafting finished endgame items before reaching level 50 wastes rare materials on gear with lower baseline statistics.
The Craft-and-Salvage Loop
Every completed craft awards a flat amount of Crafting Mastery experience. To earn this experience with minimal resource loss, execute the following cycle:
- Clear inventory space: Move stored gear and consumables into your stash to leave as many open inventory slots as possible.
- Set rarity to Uncommon (Green): Avoid Rare, Epic, or Legendary recipes for leveling. Higher rarities demand substantially more gold, higher-tier essences, and Marks of the Titan without providing a proportional increase in Mastery experience.
- Select low-cost armor slots: Pick slots with minimal base material costs, such as bracers, belts, or boots. Weapons require more gold and raw materials per craft.
- Batch-craft full inventories: Fill your bags with your chosen green armor piece.
- Salvage all crafted items: Open the salvage tab and break down the entire batch. Salvaging returns a high percentage of base materials like Iron, Leather, or Cloth.
- Repeat: Continue crafting and salvaging in batches until your gold or Lesser Essences run low.
Crafting Level Brackets
The item level you choose determines how quickly your gold and essence reserves drain relative to your experience gains.
| Item Level Bracket | Target Rarity | Primary Advantage | Main Bottleneck |
|---|---|---|---|
| Levels 14–25 | Uncommon (Green) | Lowest gold and material consumption per craft | Requires more total crafts to reach level 50 |
| Levels 50–60 | Uncommon (Green) | Balanced experience yield and moderate material recovery | Moderate gold consumption |
| Level 70 | Uncommon (Green) | Highest Mastery experience gain per individual craft | Rapidly drains gold reserves and Lesser Essences |
If your character has limited gold, stay within the level 14 to 25 bracket. While it requires more total crafts to reach level 50, it prevents you from running out of currency. Shift to level 70 green crafts only after building a reserve of several million gold through campaign farming or trial runs.
Managing Gold and Essences
Basic materials like Cloth, Leather, and Iron recycle reliably through the salvage table, but gold and Lesser Essences do not:
- Gold: Every crafting attempt consumes gold, and salvaging returns none of it. Farm several million gold using gold-find gear on story stages before starting an extended crafting session so you do not deplete funds needed for ability upgrades or gemstone fusing.
- Lesser Essences: Green recipes require Lesser Essences (such as Earth, Water, or Air). Do not use the transmutation menu to convert Lesser Essences into Greater or Pure Essences while leveling Mastery, as this reduces the total crafts you can perform.
Crafting Traps to Avoid
Avoid these resource sinks during the leveling process:
- Forging Set or Legendary items: These recipes consume Marks of the Titan and high-tier essences that should be saved for level 77 endgame attempts.
- Crafting jewelry for Mastery: Rings and necklaces require gemstones and follow separate progression rules. Stick entirely to standard armor slots.
- Crafting past Mastery 50: System odds for level 77 items cap out at Crafting Mastery 50. Extra crafts past rank 50 yield no further passive bonuses.
