To fit the Gallente Dominix for PvE missions in EVE Echoes, choose between a close-to-mid-range heavy drone brawler for faster clear speeds or a long-range sentry sniper setup to clear high-tier encounters safely outside enemy weapon ranges.

The Dominix is built around Gallente hull bonuses to drone damage, drone hitpoints, and drone tracking speed. Because drones do not consume ship capacitor to deal damage, your capacitor pool remains free to sustain active armor repairs and electronic warfare modules. In addition, you can swap damage types between waves simply by carrying different drone models in your hangar bay.

Close to Mid-Range DPS Brawler Fit

This configuration fights between 20 and 45 kilometers to maximize clear speed against standard mission waves. It uses Heavy Drones as the primary damage source, matching drone damage types to pirate weaknesses (such as Ogres for thermal-weak Serpentis rats, or Praetors and Berserkers for other damage profiles).

SlotModule SelectionTactical Purpose
High SlotsLarge Snubnose Blasters or Large DecomposersApplies auxiliary damage against targets closing into close range.
Mid Slots2x Target Painter, 1x Stasis WebifierIncreases heavy drone tracking against fast frigates and cruisers.
Low Slots2x Drone Damage AmplifierFlatly increases drone DPS to shorten clear times.
Low Slots1x Large Armor Repairer, 1x Reactive Armor HardenerSustains active hull defense under concentrated fire.
Low Slots1x 500MN AfterburnerMaintains transversal velocity to reduce incoming turret damage.

When flying this fit, prioritize destroying fast tackle frigates first. The 500MN Afterburner maintains transversal speed against enemy battleships, reducing incoming damage from large artillery and lasers. However, you must actively cycle your armor repairer and monitor drone health closely when brawling inside hostile weapon ranges.

Safe Long-Range Sentry Fit

For higher-difficulty Tier 9 and Tier 10 storyline encounters, the long-range setup trades close-range damage output for engagement ranges between 80 and 100+ kilometers. This distance keeps your hull safely outside the weapon and lock ranges of most enemy ships.

  1. Propulsion: Swap the afterburner for a 500MN Microwarpdrive (MWD) to burn away from the initial warp-in beacon quickly.
  2. Positioning: Once you reach roughly 90 kilometers from the hostile spawn, cut your engines and align your ship toward a celestial warp-out point.
  3. Deployment: Deploy Sentry Drones (such as Warders or Bouncers) or launch heavy drones at maximum tether range. Sentries deal immediate damage without travel delay, destroying incoming elite frigates before they close within warp scrambler range.
  4. Repositioning Rules: Sentry drones are completely stationary. If enemy ships close in or an unexpected wave spawns nearby, scoop your sentries to the drone bay immediately before burning away or warping to safety.

PvE Rig Selection

Weapon rigs on the Dominix directly enhance drone velocity, rate of fire, and command range, while engineering rigs stabilize capacitor and armor repair cycles.

  • Drone Firepower Augmentor: Increases raw drone damage; valuable on both brawling and sniping fits.
  • Drone Aerator: Increases drone rate of fire for sustained single-target damage against battleships.
  • Drone Control Range Augmentor: Extends your drone operational distance; install two of these on a sniper fit to project damage beyond 80 kilometers.
  • Auxiliary Nano Pump & Nanobot Accelerator: Boosts repair amounts and reduces repairer cycle times for brawling setups.
  • Semiconductor Memory Cell: Expands total capacitor capacity to keep active defenses and mid-slot modules running without brownouts.

For a dedicated sniper fit, combine two Drone Control Range Augmentors with one Drone Firepower Augmentor in your weapon rig slots, and use capacitor engineering rigs to ensure your electronic warfare modules run continuously.

Mission Execution and Aggro Management

To avoid immediate tackle or focus fire, never warp directly to an encounter beacon at zero kilometers.

  • Warp-in Standoff: Enter the site at a 50- to 70-kilometer standoff distance to give yourself time to assess wave speed and incoming ship trajectories.
  • Target Priority: Assign light drones (such as Hobgoblins or Warriors) to take down elite frigates and interceptors before deploying slower heavy drones. Fast tackle frigates apply webs and warp scramblers that eliminate your ability to reposition or disengage.
  • Managing Drone Aggro: Mission NPCs frequently switch target locks from your battleship to your drones if your drones deal sustained damage. If drone shield levels begin dropping rapidly, immediately recall them to your drone bay, wait for the enemy AI to re-engage your battleship hull, and redeploy them to resume firing.
