To solo the Tech 6 Super Soft Drink storyline mission in EVE Echoes using a Caracal Navy Issue (CNI), warp into the encounter at 70 to 100 kilometers, align away from the spawn cluster, and maintain a 45 to 60-kilometer kiting buffer with an Afterburner while picking off targets in order of their speed and tackle threat.

Soloing without logistics requires sustained missile range, capacitor conservation, and active shield defense without bloating your ship's signature radius.

SlotModule SelectionPrimary Function
High SlotsMedium Missile LaunchersSustained kinetic and thermal damage without long reload downtime
Mid SlotsStasis Webifier & Target Painter (or Warp Disruptor)Slows approaching frigates and improves missile damage application
Low SlotsMedium Afterburner, Medium Shield Booster, Adaptive Shield Hardener, Ballistic Control SystemSpeed-tanking, defensive sustain, and offensive damage output
Combat RigsHydraulic Bay Thrusters & Warhead Calefaction CatalystIncreases missile flight range and base launcher damage
Engineering RigsCapacitor Control Circuit & Auxiliary ThrustersImproves capacitor recharge rate and ship sub-warp velocity

Standard Medium Missile Launchers are preferable to Rapid Medium Missiles because they avoid long reload penalties during prolonged waves. Equipping an Afterburner instead of a Microwarpdrive prevents the signature radius bloom that allows NPC heavy railguns and cruise missiles to land full-damage hits.

Warp-In and Range Management

Never warp directly to the storyline mission beacon at zero meters. Arriving inside the spawn exposes your cruiser to immediate warp scrambling, energy neutralization, and focused fleet damage.

  1. Warp at Distance: Select the mission encounter and initiate warp at 70 to 100 kilometers.
  2. Establish Alignment: As soon as sub-warp deceleration ends, lock an external celestial object or stargate, align away from the hostile fleet, and activate your Afterburner.
  3. Control the Distance: Maintain a manual retreat path or an orbit keeping the closest hostile ships between 45 and 60 kilometers away.

Because enemy ships fly at varying sub-warp speeds, retreating in an aligned direction naturally strings out the opposing fleet, preventing them from applying damage simultaneously.

Target Priority Order

Fast tackling ships pose the greatest risk of pinning your ship down and letting heavy battlecruisers close the gap. Eliminate targets in the following order:

  1. Elite and Fast Frigates: Destroy incoming frigates immediately. If an interceptor burns into short range, apply your Stasis Webifier to arrest its speed and maximize missile damage application.
  2. Electronic Warfare Cruisers: Destroy ships deploying energy neutralizers, sensor dampeners, or tracking disruptors. Energy neutralizers are the most dangerous, as they shut down your shield booster and propulsion modules.
  3. Standard Cruisers and Destroyers: Clear mid-sized combatants to thin incoming fleet DPS.
  4. Battlecruisers and Battleships: Clean up heavy hulls last. While durable, they lack the speed to catch an aligned, afterburning cruiser at range.

Managing Wave Spawns and Tactical Resets

Reinforcements appear when specific trigger hulls reach critical armor or after an entire wave is cleared.

  • Monitor Trigger Ships: Keep the tactical camera zoomed out. When the final ship of a wave or an identified trigger hull enters low armor, widen your flight path away from the center of the mission space before destroying it to avoid spawning the next wave on top of your cruiser.
  • Conserve Capacitor: Do not run your Medium Shield Booster continuously. Pulse the module only when shields drop, and keep your Adaptive Shield Hardener running to absorb incoming alpha strikes.
  • Warp Out if Pressured: If shields fall below 35 percent with heavy enemies still in range, warp directly to a station, planet, or stargate. Mission progress does not immediately reset upon departure; repair your ship, replenish your capacitor, and warp back in at 100 kilometers to continue the fight.
