To defeat the Titan boss as an Assassin in Evil Lands, you must stay off the boss's front line, dodge clear of his ground shockwaves, and unload your burst skills exclusively during his post-attack recovery animations. Because the Assassin has limited physical defense compared to heavier classes, trading hits head-on leads to quick deaths.
Titan Attack Patterns and Safe Counters
The Titan uses three primary attacks. Each has a distinct wind-up animation that tells you when to break away:
- Overhead Ground Pound: The Titan raises his arms and slams downward, sending a lethal shockwave traveling forward in a straight line. Do not retreat directly backward; strafe diagonally through his flank to escape the shockwave corridor.
- Frontal Sweep: A wide, horizontal cleave directly ahead of the boss. Staying behind or immediately beside his hips keeps you outside this strike zone.
- Radial Stomp: The Titan crouches briefly before stomping the ground, unleashing a circular area-of-effect pulse around his feet. The hit radius extends slightly beyond his foot models, dealing heavy physical damage and knockdown. Sprint or dash outward immediately when the crouch begins.
Be mindful of the arena boundaries. Getting cornered against rock walls or caught on collision boundaries removes your ability to circle away from directional slams.
Assassin Combat Rotation
Never cast long skill animations while the Titan is winding up an attack. Wait for the boss's strike to hit the ground, close the distance, and strike from behind to maximize damage multipliers.
| Combat State | Titan Action | Assassin Response |
|---|---|---|
| Telegraph | Arms raised or crouching | Disengage or circle-strafe toward the flank |
| Ground Impact | Slam or stomp finishes | Close gap behind the boss using a mobility skill |
| Vulnerability | Boss stuck in recovery frames | Cast primary burst skills, bleeds, and poison effects |
| Cooldown Reset | Boss turns toward player | Step back, kite outside melee reach, and refresh cooldowns |
Once your primary damage skills are spent, step back into mid-range kiting. Lingering at point-blank range while skills are on cooldown leaves you vulnerable to zero-range swings and wastes defensive resources.
Recommended Stat and Gear Priorities
To ensure your burst windows chip away the Titan's health bar while surviving minor peripheral hits, prioritize the following gear attributes:
- Critical Hit Rate and Critical Damage: Increases burst output during the short recovery windows after slams.
- Physical Resistance and Armor Rating: Provides enough effective health to survive a clipped blow or glancing hit without an immediate defeat.
- Movement Speed: Allows rapid repositioning around the Titan's flanks without burning your evasive dash skills prematurely.
- Life Leech or Health Recovery: Restores chip damage over time while kiting, preserving potion cooldowns.
Execution Rules and Recovery
- Do not overstay the damage window: Sneaking in extra basic attacks after your main skill chain ends leaves you animation-locked during the Titan's next telegraph. Strike, then immediately disengage.
- Heal early: Potion cooldowns are strict. Use a healing potion as soon as your health drops below 60% while actively moving away from the boss, rather than waiting for critical health.
- Keep the center clear: Fight in open ground where you have 360 degrees of movement, keeping yourself out of tight rock formations.
