To defeat a high-power alliance in the Evony Battle of Gaugamela (BOG), avoid direct power contests against their top players. Focus instead on rapid movement, high-frequency rallies, and picking off vulnerable cities to disrupt their coordination and win through total points.
Target Selection and Isolation
High-power alliances often rely on total power intimidation, but individual members remain vulnerable when isolated from immediate reinforcements.
- Scout for Isolated Targets: Identify opponents who have moved away from the main cluster or whose troop counts have been depleted in earlier clashes.
- Focus on Lower Troop Counts: Direct rallies toward players with smaller defense forces or inactive protection. Eliminating these cities reduces the enemy team's total defensive pool and forces them to reassign defensive marches away from key objectives.
Rally Frequency and Composition
Maintaining continuous pressure prevents a high-power opponent from settling into a defensive pattern and organizing counter-attacks.
- Chain Consecutive Rallies: Launch back-to-back rallies immediately after identifying a viable target. Keep rally leaders active so the enemy must constantly react rather than dictate the pace.
- Require Fast Troop Swaps: Rally joiners must recall and swap troops quickly. If an initial rally fails to clear a target city, launch a follow-up hit before the target can heal troops or receive reinforcements.
- Match Rally Compositions to the Target: Rally leaders should choose generals and troop types that directly counter the defender's current setup. Joiners must strictly follow the rally leader's request for specific troop types (such as mounted or ranged bursts) rather than sending default marches.
Positioning and Counter-Defense
Static targets are easy to lock down. Speed and movement control the map against superior forces.
- Relocate After Striking: Do not remain in one location after running a rally. Reposition your city or rally point immediately to break enemy march locks and force them to spend time scouting you again.
- Maintain Defensive Layering: Cities launching rallies remain prime targets for counter-attacks. Keep adequate troop layers in your city to avoid being zeroed while waiting for returning marches.
- Evaluate Point Trades: Only trade troops when an attack yields a net score advantage or removes a critical strategic asset from the board. Avoid purely pyrrhic attacks that drain your alliance's troops without advancing your score lead.

This helped me understand strategy much better.
Good guide for Evony players. The strategy part was useful.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
