To grow faster in Evony without depleting your resources or stalling your build queue, upgrade only the structures required to advance your Keep, save large speedup expenditures for Consuming Return events, and rely on alliance boss rallies rather than gathering tiles for speedups and materials.

Focus Upgrades Strictly on Keep Prerequisites

Upgrading every in-city building evenly spreads construction queues and resources too thin. Keep level dictates march sizes, rally capacity, general level caps, and Academy research limits. Raising secondary resource plots or duplicate military buildings delays access to these account-wide caps.

Every Keep upgrade requires your Wall to match the current Keep level plus one specific secondary building, such as the Archer Camp, Stables, Trap Factory, or Academy. Limit your construction queues to these requirements.

StructureProgression RoleRecommended Action
Keep & WallEstablishes main account tier and unlocks maximum building levels.Upgrade as soon as prerequisites finish.
AcademyControls research tiers and core development buffs.Keep level equal to your Keep whenever possible.
Rally SpotIncreases march size capacity for gathering and combat.Upgrade consistently to expand troops per march.
Tier PrerequisitesSpecific buildings required for the next Keep level (e.g., Stables).Level strictly to the requirement of the target Keep tier.
Secondary PlotsExtra farms, mines, quarries, or duplicate training camps.Leave at lower tiers until core Keep milestones are secured.

Sync Speedup and Resource Spending with Consuming Events

Using weeks or months of speedups outside active events forfeits return rewards. Evony regularly runs Consuming Return events—specifically Resource Consuming and Speedup Consuming events—that refund fixed percentages of gems, speedups, and resource chests when you reach spending thresholds.

Hold major Keep and Academy upgrades in reserve until these events appear:

  1. Bank your construction and research speedups during off-event periods.
  2. Rely on natural timers and alliance helps while waiting for an event window.
  3. Once a Consuming Return event goes live, spend banked speedups and resources to hit reward tiers.
  4. Collect the rebate chests to immediately fund the next prerequisite chain.

Farm Alliance Boss Rallies for Resources and Speedups

Resource tiles on the world map cannot keep pace with high-tier construction costs. Joining alliance rallies against world bosses (such as Ymir, Pan, Cerberus, and high-level Boss Monsters) yields resource chests, speedups, and research stones directly into your inventory.

To gather boss rewards efficiently without taking hospital casualties:

  • Send a Single Tier 1 Mounted Troop: Join rallies with one Tier 1 cavalry unit paired with a loot general (such as Cleopatra) or a general equipped with a double-drop ring. If the rally leader clears the boss, your single troop survives and you receive full drop rewards without wounded troop costs.
  • Conserve Stamina for Group Targets: Avoid spending stamina soloing low-tier monsters. Save stamina packs to join high-level rallies hosted by your alliance's strongest players.
  • Claim Alliance Gifts Daily: Defeating alliance bosses levels up the Alliance Gift bar, generating daily chests containing gems, VIP points, and short-duration speedups.

Prioritize Economic Research Over Early Troop Mass Production

Research provides permanent, unstrippable account buffs, whereas troops can be lost in a single defense failure. Focus Academy projects on economic efficiency before investing heavily in military trees.

  • Advancement and Production Trees: Maximize nodes for Construction Speed, Research Speed, and Gathering Speed first. These shorten every subsequent timer on your account.
  • March Buffs: In military trees, prioritize march size and troop movement speed to reduce travel times across the world map.
  • Delay Mid-Tier Troop Mass Training: Avoid training large armies of Tier 9 through Tier 11 troops. Producing hundreds of thousands of mid-tier units consumes millions of resources and months of training speedups that are better spent reaching Keep 30 and higher tiers. Train only enough troops to fill gathering marches and fill rally slots.

Keep Resource Boxes in Inventory Until Needed

Unprotected food, lumber, stone, and ore displayed in your top interface bar can be plundered during enemy attacks, and open food is steadily consumed by troop upkeep.

Leave resource rewards inside their inventory boxes. Items stored in your inventory cannot be scouted, stolen, or eaten by your army. Open resource boxes only when you are actively standing on the upgrade screen ready to press the button, ensuring the materials are converted immediately into an active timer.
