In Evony, the double drop rate determines your percentage chance to receive two identical sets of victory rewards when defeating a boss monster. To maximize your double drop rate, stack Baibars' built-in skill, a Level 4 Luck skill book, a drop-rate ring, the Bird of Hurricane spirit beast, and account VIP perks.
Every participant in an alliance rally rolls their double drop chance independently. A rally joiner's loot duplication depends entirely on the general, equipment, and beast attached to their own marching slot, not on the rally leader's stats.
Rewards Affected by Double Drops
When your double drop roll succeeds, the victory mail delivers duplicated quantities of chance-based loot bundles:
| Reward Category | Affected by Double Drop | Reward Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Boss Resource Chests | Yes | Duplicates the standard drop quantity |
| Speedup Bundles | Yes | Duplicates both regular and healing speedups |
| Crafting Materials | Yes | Duplicates scroll boxes, dragon scales, and material chests |
| Alliance Gift Keys | No | Fixed reward tier generated per boss tier |
| Monarch EXP and Prestige | No | Static point values credited directly to your profile |
Double drops cap out at a 100% chance. Stacking bonuses past 100% guarantees a duplicate payout on eligible items, but it does not roll for triple drops or increase fixed rewards.
Core Setup: Generals and Skill Books
The foundation of any monster hunting march is the tavern general Baibars. His native skill grants an automatic 20% monster double drop rate without requiring stars, specialties, or experience levels.
Baibars Native Skill (20%) + Level 4 Luck Skill Book (18%) = 38% Baseline Chance
To optimize this baseline:
- Add a Level 4 Luck skill book to Baibars to gain an additional 18% double drop rate. Because Baibars' innate ability uses a unique skill name, standard Luck books stack additively with it rather than conflicting.
- When using Baibars as an assistant general behind a combat-focused leader, his native 20% drop bonus remains fully active.
- Do not equip a Luck skill book on both the main general and the assistant general, as identical skill books cancel each other out.
Equipment, Spirit Beasts, and VIP Perks
Once your general skills are configured, add gear and account multipliers to push your rate toward the cap:
- Ring Equipment: Equip rings that carry monster double drop rate attributes. The Fearless King's Ring serves as an early option, while the Dragon Ring, Ares Ring, and late-game Achaemenides Ring provide higher base double drop percentages.
- Bird of Hurricane: Assign this spirit beast to your hunting march. Upgrading the Bird of Hurricane scales its passive double item drop rate up to a maximum of 20%.
- VIP Level: VIP progression grants passive double drop percentage points that apply globally across all your marches without taking up gear slots.
Combined, a 38% general baseline, a high-tier ring (15% to 28%), the Bird of Hurricane (up to 20%), and passive VIP bonuses reliably yield a 75% to 96% total double drop chance.
Rally Joiner vs. Rally Leader Marches
Adjust your double drop setup based on your role in the monster attack.
Rally Joiners
Joiners do not need to provide attack power because the rally leader deals the damage required to defeat the monster.
- Form a march with exactly one mounted troop (such as a single Tier 1 or Tier 4 cavalry).
- Assign Baibars as the march leader with a Level 4 Luck skill book, your best drop ring, and the Bird of Hurricane.
- Join the rally to gain your full personal double drop chance with zero risk of troop hospital bills.
Rally Leaders
Rally runners clearing high-tier monsters like Ymir, Pan, or high-level Cerberus must balance drop bonuses against combat survival.
- Use your strongest mounted general (such as Martinus, Roland, or Zhao Yun) as the main general with full combat gear to clear the boss safely.
- Set Baibars as the assistant general to secure his 20% drop bonus without sacrificing the primary general's combat stats.
- Keep offensive rings on your main general if your attack margins are close; never sacrifice required combat stats for loot gear if the trade-off causes wounded cavalry.
