During Evony Server War (SvS), surviving extreme power gaps requires prioritizing troop preservation over direct city defense. Because high-spending opponents possess specialized buffs and combat power that can zero well-prepared cities in a single hit, attempting to tank attacks directly leads to massive troop losses. Your immediate action should be shifting to low-risk movement strategies, using pre-set ghost marches to keep your high-tier units off the map whenever opponents push.
Setting Up and Executing Ghost Marches
Ghosting is the primary method for protecting high-tier troops when high-power enemies target your Keep. Because enemy scouts instantly reveal your city composition, leaving your army inside guarantees massive point payouts for attackers.
To execute ghosting effectively under attack:
- Pre-configure march presets: Assign your main generals and high-tier march compositions before combat begins. Do not waste time swapping gear or changing general configurations while an incoming attack or scout indicator is active.
- Target long-duration rallies or distant tiles: Send your main march onto a long-distance alliance rally or a distant resource tile the moment enemy activity reaches your location.
- Clear the Keep entirely: Ensure no high-value fighting units remain in your city walls. An empty city yields zero points to an attacking enemy, negating their power advantage.
Managing Subordinate Cities
Subordinate Cities become high-priority targets during SvS because opponents use them to farm easy points. Defending these static positions against high-level attackers usually results in heavy troop casualties and unsustainable healing costs.
Unless you possess top-tier defensive stats capable of holding off server rallies, treat Subordinate Cities as expendable:
- Remove defensive armies: Pull your units out of Subordinate Cities prior to active enemy pushes.
- Allow temporary loss: Let opponents capture or clear Subordinate Cities rather than feeding them main-army kills inside city walls.
- Reclaim later: Re-evaluate and retake your Subordinate Cities during lulls in combat or after the SvS event concludes.
Scouting and Engagement Timing
Server War pushes are coordinated across different alliance time zones. Participating successfully without incurring severe losses requires selective timing and active map surveillance.
Monitor enemy movement patterns and adapt your combat windows:
- Ghost during enemy peak hours: When the opposing server launches coordinated pushes or deploys their highest-power players, stay ghosted and refrain from open defense.
- Scout active threats early: Watch for enemy rally leads relocating toward your alliance territory. If high-power spenders port nearby, evacuate your main marches immediately rather than waiting for an incoming attack march line.
- Pick isolated targets during lulls: Wait until major enemy spenders log off or move to other sections of the map. Use your own scouts to locate smaller, isolated targets to trade points safely before ghosting again.
