Ascending the Eternal Market to Level 11 in Forge of Empires is not worth the investment for most players because the upgrade is temporary. Instead of consuming event kits on a timed bonus that eventually expires, save your kits to construct a second permanent Level 10 Eternal Market.

Level 10 Permanent Output vs. Level 11 Ascended Upgrades

The Eternal Market is assembled across multiple events using selection kits. It features 10 permanent levels that yield Forge Points, goods, and combat boosts for attacking armies.

Level 11—the Ascended Eternal Market—increases combat percentages and resource yields. However, this state runs on a countdown timer. Once the timer expires, the building reverts to Level 10, stripping the bonus stats until another upgrade item is applied.

Why Building a Second Market Is the Better Investment

Selection kits for the Eternal Market are limited rewards distributed across the event calendar. Spending a selection kit on an ascension upgrade trades permanent progression for a short-term spike.

Saving those kits to build a second Level 10 Eternal Market permanently doubles your base production. Two base structures deliver twice the Forge Points, double the goods, and provide consistent combat stats year-round without requiring recurring kit investments. Over time, two permanent footprints generate far more total value than repeatedly ascending a single footprint.

When Ascending the Eternal Market Makes Sense

Upgrading to Level 11 can be justified under a few specific conditions:

  • Targeted Guild Battlegrounds Pushes: Activating Level 11 right before a decisive Guild Battlegrounds season can provide the temporary combat margin needed to fight at higher attrition thresholds.
  • Severe Space Constraints: Fully developed endgame cities that have run out of grid expansions can use ascension to increase output on an existing footprint without placing another building.
  • Dedicated Ascension Items: If you obtain ascension items that cannot be used as base selection kits, use them freely, as they carry no opportunity cost against building a duplicate.

To get the most value from your event rewards, follow this order of progression:

  1. Complete your first market: Apply all incoming selection kits to your primary Eternal Market until it reaches Level 10.
  2. Stockpile duplicate kits: Once your first building reaches Level 10, keep all new selection kits in your inventory rather than activating Level 11.
  3. Deploy a second structure: Once you hold enough kits to assemble a second high-level or fully upgraded Level 10 market, clear city space and place it to permanently expand your daily production.
