To prevent estate deficits in Game of Vampires: Twilight Sun, always collect your Blood levy before drafting Familiars. Recruiting Familiars directly consumes an equivalent amount of Blood from your reserves. If you draft troops when your Blood stockpile is low, you will run out of the Blood required for rituals, upgrades, and further recruitment, bringing your campaign progress to a halt.

Castle Currencies and Their Functions

Your castle generates three basic currencies through recurring collection charges. Each serves a distinct operational role across combat and character progression.

ResourcePrimary FunctionCost to CollectCollection Factor
CoinsLevel up Wardens and enhance skillsFreeCommercial and wealth attributes
BloodFuels rituals and recruits FamiliarsFreeVitality and estate yield attributes
FamiliarsConsumed as frontline troops in story battlesConsumes BloodMilitary and summoning attributes

Because Familiars are consumed as casualties during combat encounters, running out of troops halts story progression. However, over-drafting troops drains the Blood needed for other estate systems.

The Optimal Castle Collection Order

Collection attempts store up to a fixed cap over time. When a counter reaches its maximum capacity, passive generation stops until you clear the charges. To prevent waste and maintain positive resource balances, run your castle collections in this sequence:

  1. Harvest Coins: Collect available Wealth levies first to restart the passive recharge timer.
  2. Harvest Blood: Collect your full Blood yield to establish the necessary surplus before training troops.
  3. Draft Familiars: Recruit Familiars only up to the margin your remaining Blood can safely absorb. If upcoming story chapters require more Blood than troops, pause Familiar recruitment for one cycle to rebuild your reserves.
  4. Resolve Council Affairs: Clear the backlog of steward petitions in the throne room to claim supplemental resources or permanent stat items.
  5. Reinvest Coins into Top Wardens: Spend Coins on your highest-rarity Wardens. Increasing their stats raises domain attributes, which directly increases the payout of subsequent collection cycles.

Choosing Council Affairs Rewards

Council Affairs present governance dilemmas with two distinct reward types: immediate supplies or permanent account growth.

  • Select immediate resources during bottlenecks: Choose instant bundles of Coins, Blood, or Familiars when you are actively blocked by a story milestone, such as an immediate troop deficit or a Warden level check.
  • Select attribute tomes and prestige during normal play: When your resource stockpiles are stable, choose permanent upgrades. Attribute tomes increase Warden stats permanently, raising the passive yields of future levy collections.
  • Target your specific shortage: If Blood levels dip dangerously close to Familiar recruitment costs, select petitions that grant direct Blood payouts to rebalance your reserves without using premium items.

Warden Investment Focus

Spreading Coins evenly across every unlocked Warden weakens your estate's economic scaling. Early collection yields scale directly from Warden attributes. Concentrating Coin upgrades on your strongest, highest-rarity Wardens generates higher estate returns per Coin spent than distributing resources across low-tier characters.
