To beat Level 629 in Gardenscapes, prioritize clearing the dense obstacles that divide the board during your opening turns. Expanding the playable area early creates room to assemble multi-tile explosives, which quickly charge your Rainbow Blast meter before your move count runs out.

Opening Moves: Target Lower Blockers

The starting layout restricts piece movement and limits natural matches. Clearing the surrounding obstacles immediately expands the grid and restores piece flow.

  1. Scan for direct obstacle contact: Look for three-piece matches that sit flush against wooden barriers or blocker clusters. Matches that do not hit an obstacle waste moves without opening the grid.
  2. Prioritize matches near the bottom: Clearing tiles low on the board forces the columns above to drop down. These cascades frequently damage adjacent blockers without requiring extra turns.
  3. Shift center columns: If the opening layout offers no direct hits on obstacles, make matches that shift columns toward the center to align fresh incoming pieces.

Power-Up Creation and Placement

Standard three-piece matches are too slow to clear Level 629 within the turn limit. Rely on explosive power-ups to clear multi-tile radiuses and charge the Rainbow Blast gauge.

Power-UpCreation RequirementBlast RadiusLevel 629 Tactical Use
FirecrackerMatch 4 tiles in a line1-tile crossChips away isolated obstacles in narrow side lanes.
BombMatch 5 tiles in a T-shape or L-shape2-tile circleBlasts through dense mid-board obstacle clusters.
DynamiteMatch 6 tiles in an extended shape3-tile circleRemoves large blocker groups and heavily charges the meter.
TNT BarrelMatch 7 or more tiles4-tile circleClears the local board area and fills the Rainbow Blast meter.

Do not automatically detonate explosives the turn they appear. Matching pieces beneath a Bomb or Dynamite drops it deeper into the board, placing its blast radius in direct contact with fortified obstacles.

Managing Rainbow Blasts

Swapping two adjacent Rainbow Blasts clears every standard tile on the screen and deals severe damage to all obstacles. While pairing them is the strongest board reset, spending three or more turns maneuvering them together wastes limited moves.

If two Rainbow Blasts are separated, deploy them independently using these priorities:

  • Target abundant obstacle-adjacent colors: Check the board for the tile color that touches the highest number of blockers, then match the Rainbow Blast with that color.
  • Remove objective-linked tiles: If your objective requires collecting specific items, match the blast to that element to collect every instance on the board instantly.
  • Force tile cascades: Removing all pieces of a single color narrows the palette, triggering automatic cascades and naturally generating new explosives.

Clearing Column Bottlenecks

Blockers on Level 629 can divide the board into isolated columns, cutting off tile drops from the top dispensers. When upper rows are blocked, pieces cannot fall into the bottom lanes, leaving lower sections starved of matches.

  • Clear top chokepoints first: If a column stops receiving new pieces, break the blocker sitting directly above it to restore tile flow.
  • Use horizontal matches: Making horizontal matches across adjacent columns shifts tiles trapped in vertical lanes, allowing dormant sections of the board to refill.

Endgame Cleanup Strategy

Reserve a safety margin of at least five moves for the final phase to handle isolated objectives:

  • Avoid single-tile tunnel vision: If an objective tile lacks an immediate match, do not waste turns making weak adjacent moves hoping for favorable drops.
  • Build remote explosives: Look across the rest of the board for four-piece or five-piece combinations. Creating and detonating a Bomb or Firecracker on the opposite side sends shockwaves across the board to clear remaining targets reliably.
