To beat Level 10 in Gardenscapes, clear the required acorn quota before your moves run out by prioritizing matches on the bottom half of the board and detonating explosive power-ups adjacent to acorn clusters. Working low triggers automatic tile cascades that crack acorns passively, opens board space for piece flow, and rapidly charges your Rainbow Blast.

Acorn Mechanics and Target Priorities

Acorns are static stage targets that cannot be swapped or matched into standard three-in-a-row combinations. You can only remove an acorn by making a regular match on an adjacent tile or by hitting it with a power-up blast. Because acorns remain fixed until cleared, they block pieces above them from refilling columns normally.

Target / ElementRemoval ConditionPriority
Acorn (Primary Goal)1 adjacent piece match or 1 power-up hitHigh — Fulfills stage quota and opens column flow
Edge AcornsDirect adjacent match or explosive blast radiusHigh — Unlikely to clear from passive vertical drops
Standard PiecesLine match of 3 or more, or power-up blastMedium — Used to hit acorns or craft power-ups

Clearing acorns in the central and upper lanes early unblocks the board, allowing new pieces to drop smoothly from the top and setting up opportunities to craft high-tier power-ups.

Step-by-Step Strategy to Clear the Board

Follow this sequence to conserve moves and hit the acorn requirement efficiently:

  1. Work the bottom of the grid first: Making matches in the lowest available rows causes columns above to fall into empty spaces. These drops frequently produce incidental three-in-a-row matches that strike adjacent acorns without costing extra turns.
  2. Avoid high-board matches unless they yield power-ups: Clearing pieces at the very top only manipulates a few tiles and rarely sparks chain reactions. Only make high matches if they directly create a booster or hit an otherwise unreachable border acorn.
  3. Do not waste turns targeting isolated edge acorns: If an acorn on the board perimeter lacks an easy adjacent match, do not spend multiple turns shifting pieces toward it. Instead, build an explosive nearby to catch it in a blast.

Crafting and Combining Power-Ups

Standard three-piece matches only damage acorns directly bordering the cleared tiles. Explosives hit multiple acorns across a wider area in a single turn.

  • Firecracker (Match 4 in a line): Explodes in a cross shape one tile outward in each cardinal direction. Use it to hit isolated acorns on board edges.
  • Bomb (Match 5 in an L- or T-shape): Clears a two-tile radius around the detonation point. This is the most effective tool for clearing dense acorn groupings in the middle of the board.
  • Dynamite (Match 6 pieces): Clears a three-tile radius, wiping out large sections of the grid and all acorns caught in the explosion.

Whenever two power-ups appear adjacent to each other, trigger them together. Double-tapping or swapping adjacent explosives creates an expanded blast radius that covers significantly more board area than using each device separately.

Charging and Using the Rainbow Blast

Every power-up detonation fills the circular Rainbow Blast meter beside the grid. Once filled, the Rainbow Blast spawns on a random board tile.

Swapping the Rainbow Blast with any regular piece removes all pieces of that color from the board. Before using it, identify which color borders the highest number of remaining acorns. Swapping with that dominant color triggers adjacent hits across multiple targets and initiates large-scale board cascades. Avoid swapping the Rainbow Blast with a color that only appears on two or three tiles, as this wastes its clearing impact. Remaining moves after collecting the final acorn convert into bonus coins and stage-clear explosions.
