To execute Raiden Shogun's combat rotation in Genshin Impact, cast her Elemental Skill first to buff allied Bursts, cycle through your teammates' Elemental Bursts to charge her Chakra Desiderata wheel, and then trigger her Elemental Burst to deal heavy damage and refund energy to the entire party.
Step-by-Step Rotation Sequence
Execute this five-step sequence to maintain skill uptime, maximize her damage scaling, and recharge the party's energy meters:
- Activate Transcendence: Baleful Omen: Cast Raiden Shogun's Elemental Skill at the start of combat. This summons the Eye of Stormy Judgment, which grants coordinated Electro strikes on hit and increases teammates' Elemental Burst damage according to each Burst's energy cost.
- Cycle Allied Elemental Bursts: Swap through your three teammates and cast their Elemental Bursts. Prioritize high-cost Bursts to generate the maximum number of Resolve stacks for Raiden's Chakra Desiderata ring. Gathering elemental particles during this phase also contributes stacks.
- Unleash Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu: Switch back to Raiden Shogun once the Chakra Desiderata ring is fully illuminated. Cast her Elemental Burst to deliver the Musou no Hitotachi slash, which consumes all accumulated Resolve to deal amplified Electro area-of-effect damage.
- Attack in Musou Isshin Stance: Keep Raiden Shogun on the field and perform continuous normal, charged, and plunging attacks with her Electro-infused sword. All attacks in this stance register as Elemental Burst damage. Hitting targets restores flat energy to all party members up to five times, rapidly recharging their Burst gauges.
- Restart the Loop: Once the sword stance expires, recast her Elemental Skill to refresh the Eye of Stormy Judgment and repeat the sequence.
Core Abilities and Tactical Priority
| Ability | Core Function | Combat Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Eye of Stormy Judgment (Skill) | Coordinated Electro attacks; buffs team Burst damage by energy cost | Cast first; duration exceeds cooldown for permanent uptime |
| Chakra Desiderata (Passive Wheel) | Accumulates Resolve stacks from team Burst energy costs and particles | Fill completely before triggering Raiden Shogun's Burst |
| Musou no Hitotachi (Burst Slash) | High-damage initial cleave scaling directly with spent Resolve | Unleash at maximum Resolve saturation |
| Musou Isshin (Burst Stance) | Infuses sword attacks, resists interruption, and grants flat party energy | Attack continuously on-field for the full stance window |
Stance Benefits and Kit Limitations
During Musou Isshin, Raiden Shogun gains heavy interruption resistance and complete immunity to Electro-Charged reaction damage. This allows her to maintain attack strings against aggressive enemies without dodging out of her combo window.
However, two kit constraints dictate how to build teams around her:
- Shield Obstacles: The Eye of Stormy Judgment triggers coordinated Electro strikes only when an active character deals actual damage to an enemy's health pool. It does not trigger against protected elemental barriers, such as Abyss Mage shields, until those shields are broken by other attacks.
- Field Time Requirements: Raiden Shogun requires dedicated on-field attack time during her sword stance to recharge the party's energy. She does not pair well with selfish on-field carries who require uninterrupted field presence.
