To rank up an Artifact in Granado Espada M, open your inventory, go to the Artifact tab, choose the item, and feed matching duplicate copies or rank-up materials into the upgrade interface along with a Vis fee. Upgrading raises the Artifact's tier, increasing its base attributes and strengthening its unique passive skill. Because upgrade fodder and Vis are limited, upgrade your primary damage dealer's offensive pieces first to clear stage DPS checks efficiently.

How to Rank Up an Artifact

Artifacts provide core passive statistics and skill bonuses across your three-character squad (3MCC). Unlike standard armor and weapons that use enhancement scrolls, Artifact progression relies on a tier-based rank-up system.

Follow these steps to upgrade an Artifact:

  1. Open the main menu and select Inventory.
  2. Tap the Artifact tab to open your equipment storage.
  3. Select the Artifact you want to enhance, then tap Upgrade / Rank Up.
  4. Place the required matching duplicate items or designated upgrade tokens into the material slots.
  5. Pay the required Vis fee and confirm the upgrade.

Each tier increase raises primary attributes such as Attack Power, Penetration, Critical Strike, or Maximum HP. In addition, advancing an Artifact's tier improves the percentage values of its passive effect.

Upgrade Priority Across Your Squad

Spreading upgrade materials evenly across all three squad members will deplete your Vis without providing enough power to pass high-level encounter checks. Invest in your main carry before upgrading utility or defensive gear.

Priority 2Cooldown & EnergySub-DPS, Debuffers, EnchantersCooldown Reduction, Stance Skill Power
Priority 3DefensiveFrontline TanksMax HP, Physical/Magical Defense, Block
Priority 4SustainDedicated Supports, HealersHealing Output, HP Recovery, Resistances

Prioritize offensive gear because story bottlenecks and boss battles enforce tight enrage timers. Raising your primary carry's stats shortens fight duration, reducing incoming damage on your frontline heroes.

Managing Duplicates and Materials

Artifact rank-ups require identical duplicate copies or rarity-equivalent rank-up tokens. Managing your inventory carefully prevents wasting materials on the wrong pieces:

  • Lock Equipped and Reserve Pieces: Tap the padlock icon on any Artifact currently worn or reserved for secondary teams. This prevents the auto-fill or batch-selection feature from consuming active gear as fodder.
  • Target Choice Boxes: When claiming Artifact selection chests, pick copies of the specific piece you are currently ranking up. One high-tier Artifact provides a larger stat spike than multiple low-tier items spread across your roster.
  • Avoid Over-Investing in Early Low-Tier Pieces: Low-rarity green and blue Artifacts are cheap to upgrade, but their stat ceilings are low. Invest only the minimum Vis needed to clear early story progression, and save your bulk resources for high-rarity pieces.
  • Verify Stance Synergy: Before committing duplicate materials to an Artifact, check its passive condition. Certain Artifact passives activate only when using specific character stances or weapon types. Equip and rank up items that match your active lineup's skill kit.
