To summon Yogg-Saron, Unleashed on turn three in Hearthstone Wild, you must ramp into the four-mana spell Ancestor's Call to pull the Titan directly from your hand.

Because Ancestor's Call summons a minion rather than playing it, Battlecry effects do not trigger. However, Titan abilities activate on the turn the minion enters the board. This mechanic gives you an immediate 7/5 body with instant board control long before an opponent can assemble an answer.

Executing the Turn 3 Play Lines

Reaching four mana on turn three requires different setup lines depending on turn order:

  • Going Second (With The Coin): Spend turns one and two floating mana or clearing opposing tokens. On turn three, spend three regular mana crystals and The Coin to cast Ancestor's Call.
  • Going First (Without The Coin): On turn three, cast Lightning Bloom to gain two temporary mana crystals. Spend four of your five available mana to cast Ancestor's Call.

If Ancestor's Call pulls Yogg-Saron, Unleashed, you can immediately click the minion to activate one of its three Titan abilities.

Mulligan Priorities

Your opening mulligan must focus entirely on finding your mana cheat engine. Holding Yogg-Saron without an enabler leaves you vulnerable to aggressive decks.

The CoinRetained (Going Second)Provides the fourth mana point on turn three without incurring Overload.
PrescienceHigh PriorityTutors two minions from your deck and spawns two 2/3 Taunts for defense.
Yogg-Saron, UnleashedConditionalKeep only if Ancestor's Call or Prescience is already in hand.

Prescience acts as a secondary setup tool. At four mana, it draws two minions from your deck to ensure Yogg-Saron is in your hand while generating two 2/3 Taunt minions to absorb incoming damage.

Choosing the Titan Ability

Select Yogg-Saron's activation based directly on the opponent's board state on turn three:

  • Reign of Chaos (Mind Control): Use this against tall boards. If the opponent has a single large threat, such as an early giant or a buffed Mech, take control of it to swing tempo and protect Yogg.
  • Induce Madness: Use this against wide boards. Forcing all enemy minions to attack each other clears swarms from aggressive decks like Pirate Rogue or Even Shaman without damaging Yogg.
  • Tentacle Swarm: Use this if the board is empty or non-threatening to generate Chaotic Tentacles in hand for future spell pressure.

Deckbuilding Rules and Symmetrical Risks

To ensure Ancestor's Call reliably pulls Yogg-Saron, Unleashed, your deck must run an ultra-low minion density. Avoid low-cost utility, weapon tutor, or draw minions. Fill the rest of the deck list with cheap control and stall spells:

  • Removal and Disruption: Run Devolve, Lightning Storm, and Scalding Geyser to manage wide boards without diluting your summon pool. Devolve strips buffs and transforms magnetized Mechs into low-cost tokens.
  • Symmetrical Pulls: Ancestor's Call pulls a random minion from both players' hands. Against archetypes running high-cost minions, such as Even Warlock or opposing Big decks, evaluate the risk of pulling a large enemy counter-threat onto the board.
  • Overload Penalty: Casting Lightning Bloom inflicts Overload (2). If you use it to cast Ancestor's Call on turn three, you will have only one or two usable mana crystals on turn four. Ensure your selected Titan ability adequately controls the board so you can survive the restricted follow-up turn.
