To execute the Turn 7 one-turn kill (OTK) with Nature Shaman in Hearthstone, cast Flash of Lightning on Turn 6 to discount your Nature spells for the following turn. On Turn 7, flood your board with low-cost token minions, cast Bioluminescence to grant every minion Spell Damage, and unleash Crash of Thunder alongside Lightning Bolts directly at the enemy hero to deal lethal damage.

How the Turn 7 OTK Combo Works

The combo converts wide boards into direct face damage through mana reduction and Spell Damage stacking.

Flash of Lightning reduces the mana cost of all Nature spells cast on your next turn by one. On Turn 7, this discount allows you to play token-generating spells and low-cost minions for zero mana. Radiance of Azshara contributes an additional one-mana discount to Nature spells along with an innate Spell Damage +1.

Once your board is full of cheap minions, casting Bioluminescence grants every friendly minion Spell Damage +1. Because this effect scales with every body on your side of the board, a second Bioluminescence doubles the bonus. Crash of Thunder naturally discounts to zero mana after you spend mana on Nature spells, dealing heavy board-clearing burst to the enemy hero that bypasses Taunt minions, while discounted Lightning Bolts supply the remaining damage.

Mulligan Strategy

An effective opening hand focuses on card draw, engine spells, and token generators. Never keep late-game finishers like Crash of Thunder or Bioluminescence, as they clog your hand and slow down your draw engine.

  • Flash of Lightning: Keep immediately. It is the mandatory primer required to initiate the discount chain.
  • Schooling: Keep to secure three Piranha Swarmers for early trades or combo tokens.
  • Flowrider: Keep to tutor a spell from the bottom of your deck and discount its cost.
  • Lightning Reflexes: Keep to discover situational responses or extra Nature burn spells.
  • Altered Chord: Keep primarily against aggressive decks like Token Hunter or Aggro Paladin to stabilize health through Lifesteal.
  • Prescience: Keep against slower control decks like Blood Death Knight or Control Priest to dig aggressively for your combo pieces.

Step-by-Step Pilot Guide: Turns 5 Through 7

Executing the combo requires careful hand management and strict sequencing across a three-turn window.

Turn 5: Pacing and Hand Setup

Use Turn 5 to cycle through your deck or stabilize the board. Playing Inzah on Turn 5 grants a permanent one-mana discount on future Nature spells, significantly lowering the combo's mana requirements. If Inzah is not in hand, use Prescience for card draw or Altered Chord to remove a minion and recover health. Check your hand size to make sure the card draw from Flash of Lightning will not burn a combo piece on the next turn.

Turn 6: Flash of Lightning Setup

Cast Flash of Lightning on Turn 6 to draw a Nature spell and activate the cost-reduction aura for Turn 7. Do not play Piranha Swarmers from Schooling on this turn unless you face imminent lethal damage, as you need those cheap bodies in hand for the combo turn. If you have unspent mana, use your Hero Power or float the remaining mana crystals.

Turn 7: The Burst Sequence

Follow this exact sequence to ensure your damage multipliers apply correctly before spending your burst:

  1. Summon Radiance of Azshara: Provides an immediate one-mana discount on subsequent Nature spells and adds a base Spell Damage +1 bonus.
  2. Deploy all token minions: Play your Piranha Swarmers from Schooling or cast Totemic Evidence. With the discounts from Flash of Lightning and Radiance of Azshara active, these cost zero mana.
  3. Cast Bioluminescence: Target your board to grant every friendly minion Spell Damage +1. If you hold a second copy of Bioluminescence, cast it immediately to grant an additional Spell Damage +1 per minion.
  4. Cast Crash of Thunder: Because you have spent mana on Nature spells, Crash of Thunder discounts to zero mana, dealing heavy damage across all enemy minions and the opposing hero.
  5. Cast Lightning Bolt: Direct your discounted Lightning Bolts straight at the opponent's hero to finish the game.

Damage Breakpoints

Check your total minion count and available copies of Bioluminescence before committing your spells on Turn 7. The damage values below assume Radiance of Azshara is on board to provide its base +1 Spell Damage.

Minions on BoardBioluminescence CastsTotal Spell Damage BonusCrash of Thunder DamageLightning Bolt DamageTotal Burst (2x Bolt + 1x Crash)

4 Minions2 Copies+91212 each36
5 Minions2 Copies+111414 each42
6 Minions2 Copies+131616 each48

A board with four minions and two casts of Bioluminescence produces 36 total damage, which is enough to clear standard 30-health targets. Expanding the board to five or six minions pushes burst past 40 damage, allowing you to defeat opponents with Prince Renathal health pools or moderate Armor totals.

Handling Disruption and Aggression

  • Fast Aggro Boards: Use Altered Chord and Crash of Thunder defensively on Turns 4 or 5 to survive wide boards and recover health. Using one Crash of Thunder for defense still leaves you with enough reach using Bioluminescence and Lightning Bolts later.
  • Dirty Rat: If an opponent pulls Radiance of Azshara from your hand, generate board width using Totemic Evidence and Piranha Swarmers. Bioluminescence still grants Spell Damage to non-combo minions.
  • Mana Tax Effects: Cards like Cult Neophyte and Speaker Stomper raise spell costs and can prevent a Turn 7 burst. Delay your Flash of Lightning setup by one turn and execute the combo on Turn 8 instead.
  • Heavy Armor Stacking: When facing opponents that stack large amounts of Armor, avoid initiating the combo with only one Bioluminescence. Draw until you hold both copies or discover extra burn spells from Lightning Reflexes to reach higher damage thresholds.
