To beat Map 1-1 and Map 1-2 in Hexapolis - Civilization game, harvest nearby tile resources immediately to upgrade your capital to Level 2, unlock ranged units, and seize neutral settlements before pushing enemy capitals. Map 1-1 requires defeating one rival within 15 turns, while Map 1-2 gives you 20 turns to defeat two factions. Unlocking Archery early prevents counter-attack damage, and adding Catapults on Map 1-2 provides the siege power needed to crack defended city centers.

Map 1-1 Walkthrough: Capturing Fistoul
Map 1-1 starts at your capital, Urzula, with a single Warrior. Your goal is to defeat the red enemy faction based in Fistoul within 15 turns.
- Scout and harvest (Turn 1): Move your starting Warrior into adjacent fog tiles to reveal resources. Harvest the nearby fruit and wheat tiles for 2 Gold each. This fills the blue progress bar to raise Urzula to Level 2, boosting your Gold income per turn and increasing your population cap.
- Expand your forces (Turn 2): Train a second Warrior at Urzula with your surplus Gold.
- Research Archery (Turn 3): Open the technology tree and purchase Archery for 5 Gold. Train an Archer at your capital. Archers attack from two tiles away without taking counter-attack damage, making them essential for weakening defenders safely.
- Advance south (Turns 4–7): Move your Warriors and Archer south toward Fistoul. Keep your Archer behind the Warriors to avoid direct melee hits.
- Take the capital (Turn 8): Attack the defending Warrior inside Fistoul with your Archer first. Finish off the defender using a melee Warrior, then move that unit onto the city center tile to capture Fistoul and complete the stage.

City Level-Up Perks and Technology Priorities
Every time you harvest enough resources (fruit, wheat, animals, mines, or fish) to fill a settlement's progress bar, the city levels up and presents a choice between two permanent perks.
| City Level | Choice A | Choice B | Recommended Selection |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 2 | Workshop (+1 Gold/turn) | City Wall (Defensive bonus) | Choose Workshop for secure capitals; pick City Wall only for exposed frontline towns. |
| Level 3 | Gold (+5 instant Gold) | Scout (Reveals map fog) | Choose Scout on large maps to spot neutral villages; pick Gold if you need an immediate tech unlock. |
| Level 4 | Border Expansion | Population Growth | Choose Border Expansion to pull outer-ring resource tiles into your harvesting borders. |
Reaching Level 4 requires unlocking technologies suited to your local terrain:
- Farming (5 Gold): Enables building Farms on wheat tiles (costing 5 Gold) to provide 2 city growth points.
- Forestry (5 Gold) & Hunting (5 Gold): Unlocks clearing forests for +2 Gold, building Lumber Huts, and harvesting wild animals in wooded hexes.
- Mining (7 Gold) & Fishing (6 Gold): Unlocks mountain Mines and coastal fish harvesting when an area lacks farmland.

Map 1-2 Walkthrough: Conquering Two Rival Factions
Map 1-2 starts at Rivia. You must eliminate both the red faction in the east and the purple faction in the northeast within 20 turns.
Turns 1–3: Develop Rivia and Claim Eridu
Harvest the fruit near Rivia and spend 5 Gold to build a Farm. This elevates Rivia to Level 3. Select the Scout perk to clear the northern fog of war. March your starting Warrior north into the revealed neutral village of Eridu to claim it as your second city without combat.
Turns 4–6: Eliminate the Red Faction (Tarsus)
The red capital, Tarsus, lies directly east of Rivia. Spend 5 Gold on Free Spirit and 6 Gold on Riding in the technology tree, then train a Rider for 3 Gold. Use the Rider’s superior movement alongside your Warriors and Archers to assault Tarsus. Eliminate the garrison and capture the city by Turn 6.
Turns 7–8: Secure the Western Village (Gorsium)
Send your Rider northwest into the uncovered territory to claim the neutral village of Gorsium. Harvest its local fruit, fish, or animal hexes to increase your turn-by-turn Gold reserve for high-tier military units.
Turns 9–13: Siege the Purple Faction (Gondor)
The purple capital of Gondor is situated in the northeast and is defended by multiple units.
- Research Mathematics (9 Gold) to unlock the Sawmill and the Catapult.
- Train a Catapult (8 Gold) at a forward city.
- Move the Catapult into range behind your Warriors and Riders.
- Bombard the defenders inside Gondor with the Catapult's high-damage ranged attack.
- Move a melee unit onto the vacant city tile once the defenders fall to capture Gondor and end the match.
