To reliably gather ores in World 1 of IdleOn - Idle RPG, switch your Warrior to a dedicated mining talent preset, craft the highest-tier pickaxe your mining level allows, and stack Strength (STR) across your gear and cards. Mining efficiency determines whether you hit the success thresholds required to extract ore from a node instead of failing gathering attempts.
Configure a Dedicated Mining Talent Preset
Never mine using an active combat talent build. Use the secondary talent preset in your character profile to isolate your skilling talents from your fighting loadout.
Tab 1 Talents
- Fist of Rage: Increases base STR, which directly raises both physical damage and mining efficiency.
- Mining Up: Grants a flat bonus to your base Mining Efficiency. Prioritize this early to cross minimum vein thresholds.
- Tool Proficiency: Awards bonus primary stats based on the tier of your equipped pickaxe. This increases in value with each pickaxe upgrade.
- Auxiliary Points: Place remaining points into LUK or general skilling passives after maxing your STR and flat efficiency nodes.
Tab 2 (Warrior) Talents
- Motherlode Miner: Multiplies your total Mining Efficiency by a percentage. Maximize this talent first in Tab 2.
- Copper Hopper: Grants bonus Mining Efficiency scaled by the number of Copper Bars stored in your town chest. Keep a dedicated stock of smelted copper in storage to sustain this bonus.
- Big Pick: Provides a temporary burst of mining efficiency when activated. Place this skill on your active bar so your character uses it during both active sessions and AFK calculations.
Upgrade Pickaxes to Increase Tool Power
Pickaxes provide Tool Power, which acts as a primary multiplier against your base stats. Equipping a higher-tier pickaxe yields a larger efficiency jump than upgrading individual armor pieces.

If your efficiency is slightly below the requirement for a new ore node, farm the highest-tier ore you can gather at a 100% rate. This builds Mining EXP quickly, unlocking the level required for the next pickaxe tier.
Equip Mining Gear and Expand Inventory Pouches
Gear choices determine your efficiency ceiling and the length of time you can remain AFK before inventory overflows:
- Armor and Helmets: Equip the Miner Helmet to gain direct gathering stats, or use Amarok armor slotted with Armor Upgrade Stones or Strength stones to raise your base STR pool.
- Mining Pouches: Ore drops stop accumulating once your inventory reaches capacity. Craft larger Mining Pouches at the anvil and buy pouch upgrades from town vendors to extend AFK gathering limits.
Equip Skilling Cards and Set Bonuses
Cards provide passive gathering boosts without consuming equipment slots:
- Copper Ore Card: Increases base Mining Efficiency to help meet higher node thresholds.
- Iron Ore Card: Increases Mining EXP gain to accelerate tool unlocks.
- Glumlee Card: Grants bonus Mining Power and efficiency via the World 1 questline.
- Woodman Card and STR Cards: Provide raw Strength to elevate your base efficiency scaling.
- Set Bonus: Activate the Blunder Hills Set bonus or a dedicated gathering card set to boost drop rates and skilling output. Farm additional card drops to rank them up to bronze, silver, or gold tiers.
Level Account-Wide Stamps and Statues
Account upgrades boost mining performance across every character on your account:
- Stamps: Visit Mr. Pigibank in the World 1 town to level the Mining Stamp and Pickaxe Stamp. These stamps grant flat and percentage-based gathering boosts.
- Statues: Turn in Mining Statues acquired from monster drops and ore veins to the Town Statue to permanently raise your base mining yield.
