To clear Normal mode with Sion in ISEKAI GATE, pick area-of-effect upgrades early, kite swarming monsters along the arena perimeter, and save your burst skills for boss recovery windows. Sion lacks heavy defensive stats, so your success relies on positioning, movement speed, and skill cycling rather than face-tanking damage.

Core Combat Positioning

Sion functions best at mid-range distance, where you can keep dense enemy packs inside your firing arcs without taking contact damage. Because Sion's auto-targeting attacks lock onto the closest visible enemy, erratic movements can cause you to fire high-impact projectiles at scattered stragglers instead of incoming swarms.

To maximize your damage output:

  • Face the pack: Direct Sion's facing angle toward the center of the largest cluster before triggering major skills.
  • Maintain buffer space: Keep fast melee enemies just outside their strike distance so your projectiles have travel room to hit.
  • Cast while moving: Never stop moving during casting animations unless stage obstacles block enemy line of sight.

Skill Upgrade Priority

During the early minutes of a Normal run, select wide-coverage abilities over single-target damage. Encroaching fodder will quickly box you in if you lack the area damage required to carve open escape paths.

Prioritize skill choices in the following order:

Upgrade PrioritySkill TypePractical In-Game Function
Priority 1Piercing / AoE ProjectilesClears lanes through swarms to maintain open escape paths.
Priority 2Cooldown ReductionDecreases downtime between Sion's primary burst rotations.
Priority 3Movement Speed UtilityExpands kiting safety margins and aids in collecting experience gems.
Priority 4Single-Target BurstPrepares Sion for high-health elite waves and stage bosses.

Drafting movement speed early lets you gather dropped experience gems safely without risking contact damage from fast-moving rush mobs.

Kiting Routes and Swarm Management

The safest movement strategy is running large elliptical loops around the outer edge of the arena. Cutting through the center of the stage risks colliding with newly spawning monster clusters, which can trap Sion and quickly deplete your health.

Running wide perimeter laps forces pursuing enemies into a straight line directly behind you. This alignment allows piercing and linear abilities to hit dozens of monsters in a single cast. If newly spawned enemies block a corner of your perimeter path, make an immediate 90-degree turn toward open floor space rather than doubling back into the tail of your pursuing train.

Fighting Mid-Stage Elites

Mid-stage waves spawn elite enemies with enlarged health pools and disruptor auras. Firing blindly into the entire pack wastes your damage and allows elites to close the gap.

  1. Peel the pack: Run a tight circle around the group to pull fast, low-health fodder away from the slower elite.
  2. Isolate the target: Position the elite along the outer edge of your primary projectile path.
  3. Unload burst rotations: Cast all off-cooldown burst abilities directly into the elite.
  4. Disengage during downtime: If your major skills are on cooldown, step back and maintain clear running lanes until your abilities recharge.

Boss Strategy and Attack Windows

Normal bosses cycle through predictable telegraphs, such as ground markers, charge paths, and sweeping fans of projectiles. Transition from wide perimeter looping to controlled circular movements around the boss.

Follow this sequence during boss encounters:

  1. Bait the attack: Stand briefly in place when the boss begins an attack telegraph to lock its trajectory away from the arena center.
  2. Strafe laterally: Step or dash perpendicular to the attack path to clear the targeted danger zone.
  3. Punish the recovery: Unload Sion's primary burst rotation while the boss remains stationary during its post-attack recovery animation.
  4. Reset spacing: Back away to mid-range before the boss recovers, clearing any newly spawned peripheral adds while waiting for your next damage window.
