To level heroes quickly in Kingshot without running out of Hero EXP, invest all of your experience items and combat manuals exclusively into five core heroes, then place secondary heroes into the Hero Training Camp.
The Training Camp automatically sets every slotted trainee’s level to match your fifth-highest hero. This mechanic grants secondary units higher base attributes and unlocks higher-tier skill upgrades without spending additional resources.
How Level Synchronization Works
The Hero Training Camp designates your five highest-leveled units as baseline instructors. Trainees placed in open chambers inherit the level of the lowest instructor among those five:
- If your instructors are levels 80, 80, 80, 80, and 75, every hero placed in a training slot automatically becomes level 75.
- Trainees receive the baseline Health, Attack, and Defense scaling of that synchronized level.
- Synchronized levels qualify trainees for advanced combat and expedition skill upgrades.
- Star rank, ascension tier, and gear levels are not copied; each trainee must still meet separate rank and gear requirements independently.
Instructor Investment Rules
Because the synchronized level is determined entirely by your fifth-highest hero, uneven leveling wastes resources. Pushing one damage dealer to level 90 while your fifth instructor sits at level 60 caps all trainees at level 60.
To maintain maximum camp efficiency, follow three rules:
- Level instructors in parallel: Raise all five core heroes together in blocks of 5 or 10 levels so your camp ceiling increases consistently.
- Anchor with high-star heroes: Choose heroes with readily available ascension shards as your instructors. If an instructor hits a star-rank level cap, the entire camp stops progressing.
- Never manually level secondary heroes: Do not spend Hero EXP directly on heroes outside your core five.
If you previously spent EXP on secondary units, use the hero reset feature. Resetting refunds 100% of the invested EXP, which you can redirect into your lowest instructor to immediately boost the level of every trainee.
Slot Expansion and Cooldown Rules
Training slots require progression milestones or unlock tokens to open. Managing those slots properly prevents march lockouts during key kingdom events.
| Mechanic | Rule / Cost | Practical Impact |
|---|---|---|
| Slot Expansion | Building progression or unlock tokens | Expand slots as early as possible to field multiple viable marches. |
| Hero Removal | Instant revert to native level | The removed hero drops back to their unboosted level immediately. |
| Slot Cooldown | 24-hour timer upon removing a hero | Prevents swapping a new trainee into that slot for a full day. |
| Cooldown Bypass | Small gem fee | Clears the 24-hour timer instantly for emergency rally substitutions. |
Because empty slots incur a 24-hour placement delay, do not remove trainees without a planned replacement. Lock in your main combat, defense, and gathering heroes before scheduled alliance battles to avoid paying gem fees.
Trainee Slot Priority
Fill available training slots in this order to maximize operational efficiency:
- Secondary and tertiary march leaders: Additional combat leads require higher levels to expand squad capacity and survive multi-rally engagements.
- Situational counter heroes: Units with specialized crowd control, silence, or niche defensive buffs can counter specific boss fights or arena setups without permanent resource investment.
- Gathering commanders: Gathering squad capacity scales with hero level. Boosting gathering leads allows them to carry more resources per trip without requiring manual EXP books.
