How the 2-1 Reset Strategy Works

The Myriad Lantern board acts as a resource-management grid rather than a traditional screen-clearing puzzle. Every fresh board layout requires spending event currency to open up play. Resetting immediately after clearing a few basic tiles burns through currency while resetting your baseline point potential back to zero.

The 2-1 strategy establishes a clear stopping point for every board state:

1. Clear surrounding filler tiles: Target low-value filler tiles around high-tier lanterns to set up efficient clears.
2. Secure two high-value lanterns: Capture two specific high-multiplier lantern tiles on the board to lock in the bulk of your points.
3. Complete one secondary objective: Finish a single secondary target tile or objective requirement before considering a refresh.
4. Reset the board: Once these targets are secured, stop spending event items on the remaining low-value tiles and trigger the reset.

Reset Decision Checklist

Before clicking the reset button, evaluate the current board state against three specific conditions:

• Primary objectives secured: You have captured the main high-value lantern multipliers available on the current grid.
• Diminishing point returns: The item cost to clear the remaining scattered low-value tiles exceeds the points those tiles provide.
• Daily requirement cap: You have met your daily event quotas and want to save remaining currency or board states for the next daily cycle.

If high-value lantern tiles are still active on the board, hold your reset. Focus event items on the center of the grid where tiles are most concentrated, and clear tiles adjacent to high-value lanterns to trigger chain reactions that save currency.
