To clear Spec Ops Level 8 in Last Z: Survival Shooter, anchor your frontline defender at a narrow corridor bottleneck, switch off automated skill triggers, and save your burst abilities for the elite infected that spawn in the later waves.
Squad Formation and Roles
Level 8 combines rapid swarms with durable elite enemies that can quickly bypass an unorganized frontline. Set up a three-tier squad structure to balance survival and wave-clear speed:
| Role | Placement | Primary Function | Stat and Kit Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tank | Frontline | Anchors incoming pathing and absorbs initial melee rush | High HP, personal shielding, defensive self-sustain |
| Support / CC | Midline | Disrupts elite attack wind-ups and slows swarms | Stuns, knockbacks, attack-speed slows |
| Ranged DPS | Backline | Clears standard packs and burns down high-health elites | Piercing damage, high single-target burst |
Keep your ranged damage dealers stationary several paces behind the tank. If your backline is forced to reposition, their damage uptime drops, allowing incoming runners to overwhelm the lane.
Chokepoint Positioning
Spec Ops Level 8 features map geometry with tight corridors and central intersections. Do not engage enemies out in the open staging area:
- Hold the bottleneck: Place your tank directly inside the narrowest point of the corridor. This restricts incoming zombies so only a few can attack your frontline at the same time.
- Align firing lanes: Position backline units straight behind the bottleneck. Linear skill shots and piercing projectiles achieve maximum value when fired down tightly packed funnels.
- Prevent flanks: Bottlenecking incoming swarms stops fast-moving runners from peeling around your frontline to hit fragile carries.
Target Priority and Cooldown Timing
Disable auto-combat for skill deployment on this stage. Automated activations often waste high-impact area-of-effect skills on preliminary fodder, leaving you without cooldowns when heavy elite waves arrive.
- Save skills during early waves: Use standard weapon fire to eliminate the first trash swarms. Conserve all high-damage ultimates and long crowd-control cooldowns.
- Focus elite infected immediately: As soon as elite targets appear—such as heavy melee units, jumpers, or spitters—manually direct your single-target burst skills into them.
- Stagger crowd-control skills: Do not overlap stuns and slows simultaneously. Space them out so elite enemies remain locked down throughout their attack animations.
- Rely on passive cleave for minions: Let piercing and secondary splash damage handle standard zombies while all focused abilities burn down the elite threat.
Diagnosing Stage Failures
If you fail to complete the stage, your wipe timing indicates the primary issue:
- Wiping within 30 seconds: Your frontline is under-geared or mispositioned. Adjust your tank's position into the narrowest choke and upgrade their defensive gear or level before attempting the stage again.
- Running out of stage time or wiping on the final wave: Your backline lacks offensive output. Reallocate skill points into burst damage, enhance your carries' primary weapons, or equip higher-tier offensive sets on your main DPS units.
