To win trades and skirmishes as Darius in League of Legends: Wild Rift, build five stacks of Hemorrhage on a target to trigger Noxian Might, space your abilities to land the outer edge of Decimate, and finish enemies with Noxian Guillotine to reset its cooldown.
Stacking Hemorrhage and Activating Noxian Might
Darius's passive, Hemorrhage, inflicts physical bleed damage over five seconds from basic attacks and damaging abilities. It stacks up to five times on an enemy champion. Reaching five stacks activates Noxian Might, which provides a flat bonus to your physical attack damage and causes any subsequent hit against any enemy to instantly apply full Hemorrhage stacks.
| Ability / Action | Hemorrhage Stacks Applied | Core Mechanics |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Attack | 1 Stack | Standard melee strike; resets via Crippling Strike |
| Decimate (Outer Blade) | 1 Stack | Deals full damage and heals Darius for missing health per champion hit |
| Decimate (Inner Handle) | 0 Stacks | Deals reduced damage and provides zero healing |
| Crippling Strike | 1 Stack | Slows target movement for 1 second; refunds cooldown on kill |
| Noxian Guillotine | Consumes stacks | Deals true damage scaled by 20% per active Hemorrhage stack |
In extended fights, your primary goal is reaching five stacks on the most accessible target. Once Noxian Might triggers, you do not need to ramp up stacks individually on secondary targets; a single basic attack or outer Decimate hit will immediately apply max stacks, enabling high-damage ultimate casts across the enemy team.
Spacing Outer-Blade Decimate
Decimate serves as Darius's primary source of wave clear, reach, and sustain, but its benefits depend entirely on hitting opponents with the outer axe blade. After a short delay, the outer ring deals full damage, inflicts a Hemorrhage stack, and heals Darius based on a percentage of his missing health for each champion struck. Enemies hit by the inner handle receive reduced damage, take no bleed stacks, and grant no healing.
Use these tactics to maintain outer-blade spacing:
- Step back after basic attacks: Enemies naturally move into melee range during trades. Tap your movement controls away immediately before casting Decimate to place the blade edge over them.
- Cast after slow effects: Use Decimate immediately following Crippling Strike or Apprehend. The movement impairment prevents opponents from quickly stepping inside the handle or escaping the outer rim.
- Reposition with Flash: If an enemy uses a dash or Flash toward your inner handle during the windup animation, Flash backward or diagonally mid-swing to realign the outer blade over the target.
Setting Up Displacements and Crowd Control
Crippling Strike and Apprehend prevent targets from disengaging before you reach five Hemorrhage stacks.
Crippling Strike empowers Darius's next basic attack with bonus physical damage and a heavy one-second slow. Because it functions as an auto-attack reset, always land a standard basic attack first, then activate Crippling Strike immediately to cancel the winddown animation and deliver two quick bleed stacks.
Apprehend passively grants Darius armor penetration that scales with ability rank. Its active cast pulls enemies within a frontal cone, knocks them up briefly, and slows them. Avoid opening close-range trades with Apprehend; save it to interrupt enemy retreat abilities, pull fleeing targets back into melee range, or cancel channeled abilities.
Executing Enemies with Noxian Guillotine
Noxian Guillotine leaps at a target to deal true damage, bypassing enemy armor. Each stack of Hemorrhage increases the ultimate's damage by 20%, up to a maximum 100% bonus at five stacks.
Securing a kill with Noxian Guillotine resets its cooldown, allowing immediate recasts against remaining targets, and causes nearby minions and monsters to flee. If the target survives the strike, the ability goes on full cooldown. Never cast Noxian Guillotine early unless the bonus true damage is sufficient to secure the execution.
Essential Darius Combos
Use these sequences to secure trades in lane and convert kills in skirmishes.
Short Lane Trade
Use this combo when an opposing laner approaches to contest minions in melee range:
- Land a Basic Attack.
- Immediately cast Crippling Strike to reset your attack and slow the enemy.
- Step backward slightly and cast Decimate to land the outer blade.
- If the enemy dashes or walks away, cast Apprehend to pull them back in for one more basic attack before ending the trade.
All-In Duel Combo
Initiate this sequence from medium range when committing to a full fight:
- Cast Apprehend to pull the target into melee range.
- Land an immediate Basic Attack during the pull displacement.
- Reset your attack swing with Crippling Strike for the slow and second stack.
- Cast Decimate while the target is slowed to secure the outer-blade hit, third stack, and missing-health heal.
- Follow up with two Basic Attacks as the target attempts to flee, triggering Noxian Might at five stacks.
- Cast Noxian Guillotine to execute the target with maximum true damage.
In teamfights, hit the nearest frontline champion with basic attacks and Crippling Strike to safely stack Hemorrhage to five. Once Noxian Might activates, use Flash or a Protobelt enchant to reach backline carries, apply instant five-stack bleeds, and reset Noxian Guillotine strikes across the remaining enemies.
