To win a clan war on the Ancient Battlefield in Lineage 2: Revolution, your clan must secure the central corridor chokepoints, stagger crowd control abilities, rotate support buffs, and regroup at base after wipeouts instead of returning individually.

Securing Chokepoints and Map Positioning

The Ancient Battlefield connects opposing clan bases through narrow central lanes. Fighting in open areas exposes your flanks, while holding the narrowest corridor funnels enemy forces into concentrated areas where area-of-effect (AoE) abilities deal maximum damage.

  • Anchor with tanks: Send frontline classes such as Paladins and Guardians slightly ahead into the corridor entrance. They absorb opening poke damage, establish sightlines, and block enemy melee assassins from diving allied ranged units.
  • Funnel the enemy: Keep your backline directly behind the tank line. Forcing the opposing clan into the choke restricts their movement and sets up clustered targets for your ranged casters and physical damage dealers.
  • Fall back to bottlenecks: If your frontline gets pushed back toward your base, do not scatter across open fields. Retreat directly to the nearest narrow bottleneck to re-establish your defensive wall.

Executing the Crowd Control Sequence

Stacking crowd control abilities at the same moment wastes lockout duration on immobilized targets. Frontline anchors and melee disruptors must cycle their crowd control systematically:

  1. Initiation: Vanguard tanks lead the charge using wide-area taunts or knockdown slams (such as Slam or Vengeance) to disrupt enemy ranks.
  2. Secondary Stun Layering: Off-tanks and bruisers apply follow-up stuns two to three seconds later, precisely as the initial knockdown effect expires.
  3. Knockback and Isolation: Polearm users and disruptors land knockbacks to bat incoming reinforcements away and push overextended targets deeper into allied lines.

Once the primary lock lands, damage dealers must immediately focus the pinned targets before enemy supports can cast status cleanses.

Ranged DPS Priority and Target Calling

Assign a dedicated caller to prevent split fire among ranged attackers. Arch-mages and archers should stay at maximum attack range behind the vanguard and direct concentrated burst damage according to this target priority:

  1. Aggressive Melee Divers: Eliminate overextended bruisers and assassins before they breach your backline.
  2. Exposed Support Healers: Burn down healers who step within range to cut off enemy sustain.
  3. Fortified Tanks: Focus heavily armored frontliners only after their damage threats and healers fall.

If flanking assassins such as Ghost Hunters or Abyss Walkers slip through side lanes, ranged damage dealers should hold their defensive knockback abilities. Saving personal crowd control allows backline carries to repel divers independently without forcing frontliners to turn around and break formation.

Support Rotations and Buff Cycling

Support classes sustain the frontline through cycled healing, shields, and debuff cleansing. Casting all defensive buffs simultaneously at the start of an engagement creates vulnerable gaps once those effects expire. Instead, healers must rotate their skills in continuous intervals.

Utility SupportElder, Eva's ElderCooldown reduction, status cleansesCast when allied skills drain or frontline anchors are stunned
Offensive BufferWar Ranger, SwordsingerAttack speed, critical bonusesDeployed right before calling a focused burst push

Position support characters within casting reach of allied tanks, but far enough back to stay outside enemy AoE stun radii. Save cleanses for moments when multiple frontliners are locked down simultaneously.

Managing Respawns and Base Resets

Trickle-spawning—running back to the battle corridor one by one immediately after dying—causes staggered deaths and prolonged wipes.

When your frontline collapses and numerical advantage is lost:

  1. Disengage immediately: Remaining survivors must stop fighting and fall back to the clan base perimeter.
  2. Regroup: Wait inside the base until all fallen members complete their respawn timers.
  3. Recover: Allow all party members to regenerate health and mana, while waiting for key crowd control and buff cooldowns to refresh.
  4. Push as a unit: Advance into the middle corridor as a complete squad. A coordinated push with all members striking the choke simultaneously breaks enemy lane holds far more reliably than scattered skirmishes.
