To beat the milestone bosses across Waves 10 through 80 in Lucky Defense! Hell Mode, place upstream defense reduction ahead of your primary damage cluster, lock track bends with continuous stuns, and fuel your carries with a dedicated mana battery. Raw damage fails against Hell Mode armor pools; encounters require coordinated burst windows and crowd control.

Core Rules for Hell Mode Bosses

Hell Mode amplifies monster physical and magical resistance while shrinking the time windows available to burst them down. Set up your board around three operational rules:

  • Apply upstream defense shred: Position units with armor reduction upstream from your primary damage dealers. Top-end carries such as King Dian and Chu lose most of their effective output if bosses enter the kill zone without armor shred already active.
  • Anchor stuns at track corners: Hell bosses move quickly and ignore soft slows. Place high-frequency stun units like Coldy, Shock Robots, and Mythic supports on sharp track corners to freeze bosses within overlapping kill ranges.
  • Maintain mana batteries: Deploy Kitty Mage to accelerate active skill cycles. Stun locks and percent-health skills must trigger continuously to prevent bosses from crossing milestones.

Waves 10 to 30: Board Stabilization and Target Isolation

The first three milestone bosses evaluate whether you can secure early board control without draining the economy needed for later Mythic summons.

  • Wave 10: Keep at least one dedicated stun unit on the outer bend. Avoid merging away all baseline stun units early, which risks leaking the boss before primary damage stabilizes.
  • Wave 20: Establish either your first Mythic damage carry or a stacked Rare and Epic core. If the Wave 20 boss crosses the midpoint of the track, your early damage economy is falling behind.
  • Wave 30: Incoming minion swarms can draw single-target attacks away from the boss. Position area-of-effect (AoE) units slightly behind the spawn point to clear standard mobs immediately, leaving the boss isolated for single-target carries.

Waves 40 and 50: Handling Shields and Disruption

Mid-game encounters introduce mechanics that disrupt unit cycles and absorb incoming damage.

Wave 40High-durability barrier and regenerationApply percent-health burst before shields refreshLancelot, Chu, Coldy
Wave 50Attack speed slows and skill cast disruptionStagger carry placements across separate tilesKitty Mage, Tiger Master

At Wave 40, the boss deploys a recurring protective shield. Use percent-current-HP dealers such as Lancelot to quickly strip down the boss's massive baseline pool, giving your flat-damage Mythics the room to shatter the barrier.

At Wave 50, the boss casts an aura that reduces attack speed and delays skill activation. Avoid clustering all carries on adjacent tiles. Spread damage units between the center column and the inner track bend so that a disruption aura hitting one cluster leaves the other free to fire.

Waves 60 and 70: Countering Mobility and Enrage Timers

Late-game bosses introduce movement dashes and accelerated enrage mechanics that overwhelm weak crowd-control lines.

  • Wave 60: The boss executes forward dashes and short-range teleports. To prevent it from skipping your backline, build a three-point crowd-control gauntlet: place one stun unit at the spawn exit, a second at the first turn, and a third along the bottom lane. If the boss blinks past the first point, the secondary anchor catches it.
  • Wave 70: This boss gains movement speed and elevated damage resistance as the encounter continues. To beat the enrage timer, have at least two independent sources of defense shred active on the board before the wave spawns. Use Kitty Mage to keep your primary single-target Mythics cycling their highest-damaging skills.

Wave 80: Defeating the Final Boss

The Wave 80 boss combines immense health pools, crowd-control resistance checks, and high board pressure. Clear the encounter using three steps:

  1. Clear board capacity: Sell off obsolete common and rare units that do not provide active defense reduction or stuns. Use the recovered space to place support units or level up your primary Mythic carries.
  2. Lock the center intersection: Position your highest-frequency stun units directly along the central crossroad. The boss must be rooted within the overlapping reach of all primary Mythics before it turns the corner.
  3. Trigger manual burst abilities: Hold manual high-cost active skills until the boss is fully locked in the center and all defense-shred debuffs are visible. Firing abilities before armor shred lands significantly reduces total burst output.
