To beat Level 734 in Magic Sort!, preserve at least one completely empty buffer tube while transferring top-layer color segments between mixed bottles. The puzzle gives you crowded multi-colored bottles and two empty spare tubes, each holding four units of liquid. The opening requires matching exposed colors across mixed bottles to reveal buried layers before committing any liquid into the empty buffers. Once you empty your first mixed bottle, cycle that free slot to pull intermediate colors, lock completed four-unit tubes, and clear the board without hitting a deadlock.

Managing the Starting Tubes and Opening Transfers

Filling an empty buffer with mismatched segments early in Level 734 restricts your movement and quickly causes a deadlock. The two starting empty tubes act as temporary transit points, not permanent storage. If you pour two distinct colors into an empty tube, it becomes an obstructed mixed bottle that cannot accept other liquids until the top color clears. Always keep at least one tube completely empty during the opening moves.

Before making your first transfer, check the topmost layer of every bottle:

  1. Prioritize direct top matches: Pour an exposed color directly onto an identical exposed color in another tube that has available capacity. This moves liquid and reveals lower segments without consuming space in your empty buffers.
  2. Chain uncovered colors: When a direct transfer reveals a new color underneath, check whether that newly exposed layer matches an existing top segment elsewhere on the board.
  3. Use buffers only for immediate payoffs: Pour a color into an empty buffer tube only when doing so exposes a buried layer that can immediately transfer to another bottle.

Mid-Game Tube Cycling

The mid-game begins once you completely drain your first mixed bottle back down to zero units. Do not immediately dedicate this cleared slot to building a finished color unless all four matching units are accessible on the board. Instead, use this revolving empty tube to extract intermediate blocking colors from bottles that are close to emptying.

Color StatusMid-Game ActionStrategic Purpose

Deeply Buried KeyShift the top cover into a buffer tubeUncovers chain-reaction transfers
1-Unit MismatchHold until destination is readyAvoids clogging open transit buffers

When consolidating split colors, always pour downward into the tube containing the largest matching base. For instance, if one bottle holds two green units at the bottom and a second bottle has one green unit resting on top of another color, transfer the single green unit onto the two-unit stack. This builds the larger stack toward completion and frees the second bottle to move its next color.

Preventing Deadlocks

A deadlock on Level 734 occurs when every exposed top layer is a different color and no bottle has enough empty space to receive a pour.

To avoid running out of valid moves:

  • Never create a two-tier buffer: Avoid stacking two different colors inside a single buffer tube unless the top color can be cleared out within your next two moves. A buffer split between two colors cannot accept multi-unit pours and severely restricts board flexibility.
  • Target the deepest color when space tightens: If only one empty bottle remains and your options begin narrowing, stop making miscellaneous transfers. Identify the tube that is already closest to completion (such as three matching units), and dedicate your remaining open space to digging out the fourth unit. Completing that color seals the tube, eliminates four segments from the board, and permanently restores an open slot.

Finishing the Level

Once three tubes are fully assembled and sealed, board pressure drops significantly. Completed bottles are out of play, which progressively increases the ratio of empty tubes to remaining mixed colors.

Target colors that require the fewest remaining transfers to finish. Move liquid in solid blocks of two or three units directly into their final bottles rather than scattering loose units across multiple slots. Once the final mixed colors are separated into their dedicated tubes, Level 734 is solved.
