To clear levels 223 and 224 in Magic Sort!, prioritize opening up empty bottles as temporary buffer space, then peel away matching top color layers to reach the buried base colors at the bottom of mixed containers.

Maintain Empty Buffer Space

Empty bottles act as flexible temporary staging areas that prevent board deadlocks. Keeping at least one empty bottle available ensures you can shuffle liquid colors out of mixed stacks without permanently blocking active containers.

  • Prioritize moves that completely empty a bottle over moves that simply transfer top liquids into another partially filled stack.
  • Avoid pouring a liquid into an empty bottle unless doing so directly unblocks a matching color or frees a full bottle space.
  • Treat an empty bottle as a temporary staging tool rather than a final storage place for unsorted liquids.

Uncover Buried Base Colors

Progress in level 224 slows down when base colors remain trapped beneath two or three different liquid layers. Clearing matching top layers opens up the lower slots so you can merge identical base colors across the board.

  1. Scan all bottles to identify matching top-layer colors across different containers.
  2. Transfer matching top colors into a shared container or empty bottle to clear the top layer.
  3. Check the newly exposed color at the base of the cleared container.
  4. Merge the exposed base color into a matching single-color stack elsewhere on the board.

Resolve Multi-Color Bottlenecks

Containers holding three or four distinct liquid colors create tight bottlenecks. Moving liquids out of these containers without a clear target often causes cascading board locks.

Before pouring a top layer into a container that already has a different base color, verify that the destination bottle has enough remaining space to accept the move. If a temporary transfer blocks a critical move down the line, use the in-game undo function to reset the sequence before committing to a soft lock.
