Transmogrification in Mini Legion: Beast Within allows you to customize your character's visual appearance by applying cosmetic gear skins over equipped items without losing combat stats, enchantment values, or active set bonuses. You can access the system directly from the hero equipment screen at any time.

How to Apply Transmog Skins

You do not need to visit an NPC to change your appearance. Follow these steps to apply an unlocked skin:

  1. Open your active character profile and select the wardrobe or transmog icon located beside your equipment slots.
  2. Select the gear slot you wish to customize.
  3. Browse your catalog of unlocked appearances and choose a skin to view it in the live preview window.
  4. Confirm your selection to apply and save the visual changes.

Once saved, the visual overlay remains active across all game modes. Upgrading or swapping your base gear during progression does not remove the cosmetic skin, as the transmog appearance remains bound to the equipment slot until you manually change or clear it.

Customization Slots

The transmog system divides equipment customization into five standard gear categories:

  • Headgear: Applies helm models or toggles headgear visibility off to show your character's face.
  • Shoulder Armor: Changes the pauldron appearance.
  • Chest and Robes: Overrides the torso armor, tunic, or robe model.
  • Leggings: Updates the appearance of greaves, pants, or kilts.
  • Weapons and Off-Hands: Replaces equipped weapons, shields, and held items with previously collected models.

Unlocking New Appearances

Gear skins unlock automatically when you acquire items from stage drops, mythic dungeons, raid encounters, or gear chests. Once an item is added to your inventory, its appearance registers permanently in your account wardrobe.

You do not need to store physical equipment in your inventory bags or warehouse to keep its appearance. After looting a new visual piece, you can safely dismantle, sell, or consume the item for character progression materials without losing the skin from your cosmetic catalog.

Class and Weapon Restrictions

Transmog adheres to standard class proficiency and animation constraints:

  • Weapon Type Compatibility: A weapon skin can only be applied over an item of the same functional weapon type. You cannot apply two-handed weapon models to dual-wield setups, or skin a bow over a magic staff. The wardrobe interface automatically filters out incompatible weapon models based on what you currently have equipped.
  • Armor Type Consistency: Cosmetic armor stays aligned with class armor categories, such as plate for frontline defenders and cloth for spellcasters, ensuring animations and visual readability remain consistent.
