To correct overlapping assets or visual clipping in MiniMuses, reorder items within the sidebar layer hierarchy by dragging list items or incrementing an object's layer index.

Managing Sidebar Categories and Layer Hierarchy

The persistent category tabs in the sidebar group assets by type, such as body features, clothing, and accessories. Switching between tabs preserves your current selection, allowing you to test different color palettes or gear combinations without losing your work.

The sidebar also displays the visual layer hierarchy of your scene:

  • Bottom Layers: Base body features and background elements.
  • Top Layers: Accessories, handheld props, and foreground environmental effects.

If an item overlaps incorrectly, drag and drop it within the sidebar list to adjust its visual priority. When an accessory is hidden behind a character's hair or torso, use the layer manipulation tools to increment the item's layer index rather than deleting and re-adding the asset.

Using Viewport Tools and Shortcuts

Viewport header tools and keyboard navigation streamline composition and prevent accidental canvas edits:

  • Viewport Zoom and Pan: Magnify the view to check for texture overlaps, clipping, or misaligned joints before finalizing a design.
  • Flip and Rotate: Mirror single-orientation assets in the viewport header, adapting left-facing items for right-facing character poses.
  • Selection Hotkeys: Toggle focus between the active character model and the background to prevent moving scene elements by mistake.
  • Undo and Redo Hotkeys: Revert or reapply proportion and color changes rapidly without opening edit menus.

Managing Save Files and Backups

Use the Save Management window to store incremental backups before attempting complex layering or experimental prop setups.

  1. Save a primary "Base" file containing only your core character model without temporary props or experimental accessories.
  2. Create distinct, named save files before introducing complex layering sequences.
  3. Reload earlier project states directly from the main menu if a layering conflict or alignment error occurs.
